Just to put this out there, Gordon and LBJ pitched well enough to win. These two losses are not on them.

    Flores puts down the batter.

On to the bottom of the 9th.

    6-0 them.

    Exactly!

Gordon and LBJ do good or pretty good (as usual).

We need some run support. Where are our bats?

If he strikes out looking, I may throw my tv out the window.

This umpire really has impacted our approach at the plate.

It's ok. I bet Mitch bats 0.500 in the Regionals.

I can’t fault hitters for not swinging at balls. That ****** umpire had Brown and ODowd swinging at trash because of his zone.

You swing at balls you’re almost always destined to fail.

Pierce has a tendency to overthink the B12 tournament. The goal should be to win two games for a respectable showing (by using all your best pitchers if you have to). After that, no one really cares, but having that 40-win regular season might have tipped the scales for hosting a regional. Was he thinking he needed to win the whole thing?

    Pretty much.

We didn't get our 40 wins, and we just lost 2 in very unimpressive fashion. So we're going to somebody else's Regional. Blabbering heads keep trying to push us to Fayetteville.

It could be Fayetteville, or it could be Baton Rouge.

Tuscaloosa, Dallas, Lexington KY, or Gainesville, Florida are some other real possibilities.

    It’s disappointing no doubt.

We can still get some things done.

First and foremost, we’ve got to hit. Gordon and LBJ give you a chance. I like our bullpen arms more than I trust Pierce to use them properly.

Now I know why earlier in the week Pierce said he didn’t think the conference tournament should ever hurt anyone in relation to regional tournament seedings

WTF?! I didn’t even think I needed to check in on y’all’s game so I was stunned when I saw the score. The bright side for UT is getting plenty of rest for your pitching staff for next weekend.

I am thinking two seed in the DBU regional would be just fine. This team had 1/4 of its losses this year at Globe Life so anywhere but the Arlington Regional works.

This team played at a much higher level when Pierce benched him. I don't know if one has anything to do with the other, but as soon as he is inserted in a major way the team tanks.

The 2 seed in Dallas would be excellent. It would be almost like a home team advantage.

    Chop,

I'm not sure that a regional at Disch Falk with Howard Payne, Sul Ross, and SMU in the regional would give this group a "home field advantage".

Yes, I know that SMU doesn't have a team, but the way this group played the last two days, an SMU team made up of intramurals all stars might kick their ***.

Apparently, something is wrong in that locker room and Pierce gets paid plenty of money to fix whatever that is, so DO IT!

Asinine. Daly played all the games in the 15 game win streak. Starter when we led the conference before OU. Daly started when we swept Tech.

We lost to San Jose State - he didn’t play. Against WVU, we scored multiple runs before we ever got to the bottom of the order.

He doubled last night. Take away he and ODowd. 4 hits for the rest of the team. All singles I believe. Today he got the first hit. Of 2.

And actually this week he and Flores had some of the better swings. Carlson going out didn’t help, but he’s not the straw that stirs the drink.

IDK how you can figure this. He used his 2 best pitchers in the 2 games we played. Many were saying save those guys for later on - that would be the move to "win it all". I say he was trying the first 2 and then worry about it, but the bats let him down. 3 runs in 2 games? It's just like last year at Omaha - we went in thinking that our bullpen was the weak link and the bats deserted us.
