I've got some visitors from eastern Europe coming this weekend and they like beer. What are some good Texas brews that are available right now?
Independence Bootleggers brown ale (support Hornfans sponsors ) or anything by St Arnolds for starters.
Texas brewers I can think of: * Real Ale (Blanco) * Saint Arnold (Houston) * Spoetzl (Shiner) * Live Oak (Austin) * Independence (Austin) * Rhar & Sons (Forth Worth) My favorites from the above: 1. Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye Ale 2. Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower 3. Saint Arnold Summer Pils 4. Real Ale Firemans #4 5. Live Oak Pilz
I finally tried some Real Ale this weekend. It finally showed up at Central Market here in Dallas and it was really good. I tried the Fireman's #4 and the Pale Ale. I preferred the Fireman's.
Just had the Fireman's #4 & Lawnmower last night @ the Flying Saucer in FW... Personally, I liked the Lawnmower better.
Let us know what they liked/ didn't like. May want to throw some MGD in there too- seems like I remember that being popular overseas for some reason. Then you can make fun of them if it's their favorite.
Saint Arnold: Oktoberfest, Fancy Lawnmower Real Ale: Fireman If you ever get a chance go to the Saint Arnold brewery tour in Houston, it was a ton of fun. The Oktoberfest is great stuff
