I'm not so sure Abbie "left". I imagine it would have been, "Abbie, thank you for your commitment, but we think you should go somewhere else to play because you're not going to play here at Texas."

So we are both speculating. Bottom line - she’s no longer with the program.

Bringing the thread back to Lovisa, Vic's comments about her skillset were intriguing: 1) size, 2) footwork around the rim, and 3) ability to face up and score.

Most recent Texas center I can recall that may be comparable for all three is Imani Boyette (not counting Taylor). Lovisa sounds like a bit of a project, but well worth the investment.

With Hose on board and folks speculating on position, think I’ll just toss in some facts to confuse us all. Hose would have the third best three point percentage on the Horns this season….if she played for Texas. She was 3-9 from BTA for 0.333. Booker and Lee hovered around the 0.400 efficiency and that’s very good. Phelia was 2 for 16. Jak was 1 for 18. Carlton 3-12. Preston 3-15. Moore 0-5. Graves 0-4. I dare someone to calculate that cumulative efficiency…..it’s scary low. I have excluded Codio’s efficiency cause I wanted the stats for returning players. Codio had same efficiency as Hose 3-9. I have left Holle’s out just because she is a Texas Legend and deserves our loyalty…..she shot 0.271. My fair and biased conclusions are: 1. Hose at 6’-7” could play the 4 based on her BTA ranking. That’s soooo misleading but since I said so in another thread, I’m committed. 2. My eyeballs were correct….Horns BTA was abysmal. 3. Phelia “might” be given a pass on her bad shooting…if you cant see the basket, it’s hard to make the shots. 4. I’m not committing any $ that it’ll be better from current roster. 5. That’s why we need new shooters.

Yep, Texas definitely needs to move away from the "we don't need 3s to win," mantra and start getting with the program.
