Texas Quarterback Room Getting Smaller

We all know that Texas lost commitments from 2021 5-star quarterback Jalen Milroe and 2022 5-star quarterback Quinn Ewers in recent months.

Now Ja’Quinden Jackson announced his transfer to Utah on Twitter early Sunday morning.

In addition, it looks like Sam Ehlinger will not be back. "We'll miss Ta'quon Graham, we'll miss Joseph Ossai. We're going to miss the heck out of Sam Ehlinger," Tom Herman said in a press conference on December 16.

That leaves redshirt junior Casey Thompson, Hudson Card, who redshirted this season, and Charles Wright, an Austin High School senior who signed with Texas on Wednesday. Neither Thompson or Card have had very much playing time.

In addition, Charles Wright is not something to look forward to, IMO. Charles Wright finished his senior season at Austin High School on 12/11 with a loss to Vandegrift in the first round of the 6-A division 2 playoffs by 45-24. Wright was unimpressive. In addition, Austin High played Westlake on Nov. 20th of this year. I was at that game in person. (I live in the Westlake school district). Westlake won 62-0. Charles Wright looked absolutely horrible that game.

So it seems that Texas's quarterback room not only shrunk, but went from unbelievably stellar, to less than mediocre in a few short weeks.

CT and Card will be fine. Either Herman or the new coach will find a transfer.
