Turned the TV to 677 just in time to watch the 11th inning. Very nice walk-off W. Hope the last two games in this series are decided in regulation - with a much larger margin of victory for the Longhorns!
Friday game reviews: No. 9 Baseball beats Oklahoma in extra innings on Hodo walk-off double - University of Texas Athletics Douglas Hodo III’s walk-off double wins it in the 11th inning for No. 9 Texas against Oklahoma in 4-3 victory
This team seems to have "it". They crush the teams they should and win some games they probably shouldn't.
5 SO tonight through 7th inning. Our pitching is consistent. Runs seemed to be a function of how well we avoid SO’s.
Last game I attended at Disch-Falk before leaving austin to The woodlands to join the corporate headquarters was Adrian Alaniz’s no-hitter against the Sooners in 2005.
Last year (2020) was supposedly a critical year after 2019 but that was cut short by covid. I think he gets another year regardless unless CDC wants a 3rd new coach in a major sport in 2020-2021. Pierce made the CWS in his first 3 years, which means he has earned a little more time.
Another nice W - a bit sloppy on the pitching, but the offense scored a bunch of runs. Hope to get the brooms ready for tomorrow!

Starting weekend pitching seems to have found a good grove which is the key. Pierce has built that so unless Texas craters against Tceh and/or TCU he will get another year.
