Texas v. Sam Houston State March 9, 2021

Horns are home for what shapes up to be a difficult midweek game with the Bearkats, Tuesday night at the Disch.

Horns fall behind SHSU early 1-0, game is in bottom of first.

 

Horns tie it up 1-1 in bottom of first.

 

Horns now up 4-1 as they are doing some two out damage in the bottom of the first.

 

Horns get another two out run in the bottom of the second and lead 5-1 headed to third inning.

 

Bearkats get run in top of the third to make it 5-2 headed to bottom of the third.

 

Still 5-2 in bottom of the fourth.

 

Horns brought their bats tonight at least through first four innings and now lead 8-2.

 

Horns led 10-2 headed to top of sixth and then the wheels came off the Horns pitching and SHSU put a seven spot on the board. Horns add run in bottom of inning and still lead 11-9 headed to the seventh.

 

Horns keep hitting and now lead 14-9 in bottom of the seventh. Feels like little league tonight.

 

15-9 headed to the 8th inning. About to pass four hour mark for this game.

 

SHSU gets runners on first and second with one out but Horns get a double play to get out of danger and still lead 15-9 in bottom of the 8th.

 

Horns win a crazy Tuesday night marathon game 15-9 to improve to 8-5 with South Carolina coming in this weekend.

 

That was the worst half inning of baseball as ever I have seen. But, If you’re going to fall apart, do it with an 8-run lead.

 

8-2 since the exhibition games in Dallas. 80% wp I can live with.
