We had 46 yards of offense but after the first drive we now have 37 yards of offense. Also, more poor special teams play by us.
The most concerning thing is that this staff seemed to mail in the season as a "gimme" to see what they had to work with, rather than a "must win" mentality. This team had enough players to attempt to compete, but when Ash bowed out, it was all a very "meh" reaction from the staff. Just chalk it up to a bunch of learning experiences. Swaim with a missed block and Brown gets killed. Then a bad throw by Swoopes negates what would have been a Daje TD.
We now have 31 yards of offense. We had 46 yards at halftime. We had -8 yards on the first drive of the 3rd Q and -7 yards on the second drive. I've never seen a Texas offense like this before. We are losing total yards on every drive in the second half.
At halftime the on-the-field reporter asks Strong how he improves the quarterback play and he flips the question to how they need to improve on defense. Just so frustrating. He has no lclue what to do on offense.
Meanwhile Muchigan goes out and pays a top coach $8 million a year. We should have spent what ever it took to get the best PROVEN coach.
So we're basically the worst 3rd quarter team in the country since Week One, and we dare to continue the trend in our bowl game. Why change things up now? 23 points all season long. Less than 2 ppg in the 3rd. Way to play.

IMHO there have been two plays all season that seem to be available for us, the zone read and the play action pass. With regard to the zone read, either the staff does not believe that Swoopes has the ability to execute the play, or, they are afraid of exposing him to the hits, given that no backup exists. With regard to the play action, I believe the issue is Swoopes' inability to quickly read the defense. Beyond those two plays, we don't seem to have much in our arsenal to challenge a decent defense.
Duke, it's definitely the latter thing that you stated. They don't trust his brain or his confidence.
How many recruits do we lose after this abortion? I'd guess aggy will go ahead and cherry pick whomever they want without lifting a finger Strong won't last through his initial contract at this rate
Back to the whole "we suck in the 3rd quarter" thing, have the coaches even responded to the issue? Is it just coachspeak like something we need to work on? It's embarrassing that everyone in every week knows exactly how the 3rd quarter will go.
