    Game two today with the mission the same, which is a sweep. This the way to get back to .500 on the season record and build on the conference record.

    KSU will start right hander Levi MaVorhis, a senior with an era of 4.12.
    Wind blowing out, so fly balls can and will get out of here today.

    Leading off and playing third base today is Kody Clemens, for the Horns, batting left handed.
    A little fly ball to left and the wind carries it to the wall, but caught, one down, gives you an idea about the wind.

    Travis Jones bats righty, with an out, playing left field.
    A full count and he walks on a high fast ball, for the first runner.

    Catching today is Tres Barrera, with one on and one out.
    Cantu was just struggling too much with the bat.
    The right handed slugger K's looking on a fast ball, two gone.

    Kacy Clemens bats lefty, with one on and two gone.
    Jones could be running now, with two down.
    Clemens plays first today.
    Another little fly ball to left and it carries to the wall, but caught to retire the side.

    Texas with a runner, but doesn't score, KSU up to bat.

    Ty Culbreth, who has been solid all year, gets the ball for Texas, a lefty with a 5-2 record and an era of 3.21.

    Leading off for KSU is Clayton Dalrymple, their best player, playing centerfielder, batting right handed.
    A fly ball to left center goes to the track, but caught, one away.

    Second baseman is Jake Wodtke, batting righty, with an out.
    He bunts and the play goes 1-3, for a quick out two.

    Lefty hitting Josh Rollette, the DH, with two gone.
    He grounds to first and the 3-1, will retire the side in order.

    One played and no runs.

    Rough season so far for Cantu at the plate. Hope the changes get us moving in the right direction.

    MaVorhis back for the Texas second.

    Leading off for the Horns is righty hitting DH, Kaleb Denny.
    A grounder toward the hole on the left side, shortstop backhands and just gets him on the 6-3, one down.

    Patrick Mathis bats lefty and plays right field, with one away.
    A long drive to right center and it hits the top of the wall and bounces over, for a homer, it had just enough.

    Texas leads 1-0.

    Righty hitter is Zane Gurwitz, playing second, with one down.
    He grounds to third and the 5-3 is two away.

    Bret Boswell, bats lefty, with two outs, playing shortstop today.
    He K's swinging on an outside fast ball, to end the inning.

    Texas gets the lead on the Mathis homer, it's 1-0 Horns, bottom of two.

    Culbreth out for his second inning of work, with the lead.

    Leading off for the Wildcats is their catcher, Tyler Moore, batting lefty.
    He lines a single to center, for the first KSU runner of the game.

    Jake Scudder bats lefty, with a man on, playing first base.
    He K's swinging on a head high fast ball, one away.

    Tyler Wolfe bats from the right side, with an out and a man on.
    The KSU shortstop loops a single to center, to put two on.

    Left fielder is Quintin Crandall, batting righty, with two on and one away.
    An inside pitch hits him on the leg and that loads the bases.

    The right fielder is Brooks Zimmerman, batting righty, bases full and one down.
    A high pop up and it goes to second for two gone.

    Josh Ethier, the KSU third baseman, bats righty, with the bases loaded, and two away.
    Big early moment in the game.
    A ground ball to second and the 4-3 will end the frame.

    Culbreth escapes the big jam and the Horns lead 1-0, after two played.

    MaVahoris is back again for the Horn third.

    Texas leads off with Ty Rand, batting righty, playing centerfield.
    A ground ball to third goes 5-3, for the first out.

    Top of the order is Kody Clemens, batting lefty, with an out.
    A high fly ball to left center and the wind has it and it takes it over the wall, a wind blown homer. Fly ball with that direction a just gone.

    Texas leads 2-0.

    Jones bats righty, with an out and a run in.
    There goes another one to left, on a hanging curve, it's another dinger. It's a shooting gallery on fly balls today.

    Texas leads 3-0.

    Barrera bats righty, with an out.
    A ground ball to short goes 6-3, for two down.

    Lefty hitter is Kacy Clemens, with two gone.
    A liner to center is caught for the third out, to retire the side.

    Two more long balls for Texas gives them a 3-0 lead, bottom of the third.

    Leading off for KSU is the top of the order in Dalymple, batting righty.
    A two hopper to second is a 4-3 out one.

    Wodtke bats righty, with an out.
    A fisted pop to right is two down.

    The DH is righty hitting Rollette, with two gone.
    A slider is taken down the middle, for a called third strike, the K will retire the side in order.

    After three, it's Texas ahead 3-0.

    Mavorhis is back out to the hill again, for the fourth.

    Texas leads with their DH, in Kaleb Denny, batting righty.
    He grounds the first pitch to short, the 6-3 is one out.

    Mathis bats lefty, with one down.
    He homered his first trip.
    A big hook is taken on the outside corne, for a K, two away.

    Righty hitting Gurwitz bats, with two down.
    A hot shot by the third baseman goes down the line in left, a double.

    Boswell bats lefty, with a man on and two outs.
    He is also struggling at the plate, a hit could help him and score a run.
    He reaches out and a soft fly to left will fall, for a single, to score a run and get him a knock.

    Texas leads 4-0.

    Rand comes up batting righty, at the botom of the line-up, with a man on and two outs.
    A fly off the end of the bat is caught in center, to end the inning.

    Texas plays add on and now lead 4-0, bottom of four.

    The Wildcats lead off with the righty hitting Moore, the catcher.
    He swings through a slow change and the 2-3 putout will record the K, one away.

    Scudder bats righty, with one down.
    He pops the first pitch to short, for two quick outs.

    Righty hitting Wolfe, bats with two retired.
    A shallow fly ball to right carries out to Mathis, to end the frame.

    KSU down in order again, Texas leads 4-0, after four.

    MaVorhis is back once more to pitch the fifth.

    The Longhorns lead off with lefty hitting Kody Clemens, the top of the order.
    Hopper to second goes 4-3, for a lead out.

    Jones bats righty, with an out.
    A one hopper to third and the 5-3 is two down.

    So Barrera bats righty, with two gone.
    He sees that wind I bet.
    He lines out to short, to end the inning.

    Horns down in order, so halfway through the second game of the series, Texas leads 4-0.

    Culbreth out for the fifth and looks to qualify for a possible victory.

    KSU leads off with Crandall, batting right handed.
    A slow roller to second is a lead 4-3 out.

    Another righty hitter is Zimmerman, one down.
    He grounds to short, a 6-3 out two.

    Bottom of the Wildcat order is Ethier, batting righty, two gone.
    Another grounder to short goes 6-3 again, to retire the side in order again.

    Culbreth really dealing right now and Texas leads 4-0, after five played.

    MaVorhis still around for the Horn sixth.

    Texas leads their frame off with Kacy Clemens, batting lefty.
    He shoots a grounder up the middle, for a lead single.

    Denny bats righty, with a man on.
    He squares and the sac bunt goes 1-3, one down.

    Lefty hitting slugger is Mathis, with a man on second and one away.
    Pitching coach is out, but leaves him in.
    A ground ball to second goes 4-3, two outs, Clemens to third.

    Gurwitz bats righty, with a man on third, two down.
    Takes a hit now for another big run, on an offensive type day, with this wind.
    A ground ball up the middle will score that run, a single.

    Texas leads 5-0.

    So out comes the head coach and a change is needed in pitching.

    The new KSU pitcher is lefty, Jordan Floyd, with an era of 2.57.
    He is their best reliever this year.

    He faces lefty hitting Boswell, with a man on and two gone.
    A ground ball in the hole, on the right side and the second baseman has it on a slide, on the field turf, the 4-3 will retire the side on a nice play.

    Texas adds another run and leads now 5-0, bottom of the sixth.

    Culbreth out for another inning, the Wildcat sixth frame.

    KSU leads with Dalrymple, the top of the order, batting righty.
    A liner to left and Jones tries to make the diving catch, but misses and it's by him, it's a double, for a lead runner.
    It ends a string of eleven straight outs.

    Wodtke bats righty, with a man on.
    He grounds a ball over third and Clemens has it on a dive, the throw to first is way late, an infield single, probably shouldn't have thrown it, the runner goes to third on the throw to first.

    Rollette bats righty, with two on.
    He grounds a double play ball to second, but the throw is wide at second and it's only a 4-6 out, the run scores.

    Texas leads 5-1.

    Moore up batting righty with a man on, one out.
    He hits a fly ball to left and that will ride the wind out of the park, two run homer.

    Texas leads 5-3.

    Scudder bats righty, with one out.
    He singles to center.

    Wolfe bats righty, with a man on and one out.
    He grounds up the middle and Gurwitz has it and flips th ball from his glove and the nifty 4-6-3 double play ends the inning.

    It can happen that quickly today, Texas leads now 5-3, after six.

    Floyd back to the mound in the seventh, for KSU.

    Leading off for the Horns is Rand, the bottom of the order.
    He grounds a single through the right side, a lead runner.

    Top of the order is Kody Clemens, batting lefty, with a man on.
    He bunts and the sac goes 1-3, for an out.

    Jones bats with an out and a man on second, from the right side.
    A wild pitch sends Rand to third.
    Lots of ways to score him now, Texas needs this run.
    The safety squeeze is on, but fouled off.
    Infield is in.
    A full count and a ground ball through the drawn in infield will score the run, a single.

    Texas leads 6-3.

    Barrera bats righty, with a man on and one away.
    A grounder through the left side is another single, to put two on.

    Kacy Clemens bats with two on and one out, from the left side.
    A 1-0 count bring out the coach again.
    He leaves Floyd in.
    He K's swinging on the slider, two gone.

    Denny, the righty DH will come up, with two on and two outs.
    More runs would greatly help the cause, the wind keeps howling out toward left.
    He is hit by a fast ball and it did appear that Denny made no attempt to get out of the way, on a pitch that might have been a strike.
    It loads the bases, after an arguement by the KSU coach.

    So Mathis bats, with the bases loaded, two outs, from the left side.
    He could help Texas get the lead back to a healthly level again.
    A full count and a very big pitch come now in the game, all the runners on the move.
    A pitch in the dirt walks him and another run scores.

    Texas leads 7-3.

    Coach out and the change is made.

    The new hurler for KSU is a righty in Brogan Heinen, a freshman.

    He faces Gurwitz, the bases load and two out.
    Horns could go a long way to winning this game with a hit.
    A liner to the gap in right center will do just that, it rolls to the wall, a base clearing triple.

    Texas leads 10-3.

    Lefty hitter is Boswell, with a man on third and two gone.
    He K's swinging again, to retire the side.

    Horns bat around and lead 10-3, as it's stretch time in Manhattan.

    KSU leads off with Crandall, batting righty.
    A liner to left center, is a lead single.

    Zimmerman bats righty, with a man on.
    He swings through a straight change, the K is one away.

    Bottom of the order is Ethier, batting righty, with a man on.
    He grounds a single just by Barrera, who came in to play third, to put two on.

    Dalrymple bats righty, with two on and one out.
    Cantu has come in to catch now.
    A ground ball through the right side is another single, the run scores. Dalrymple can really handle the bat.

    Texas leads 10-4.

    Wodtke bats righty, with runners two on and one away.
    He K's swinging on the big ovehand curve ball, two down.

    Lefty hitter is Rollette, with two on and two down.
    He also K's swinging on a slider in the dirt, the 2-3 putout will end the inning.

    KSU gets a run, but Texas leads 10-4, after seven gone.

    Heinen comes back to pitch the eighth for the Wildcats.

    Rand will lead off batting righty, for Texas, the botom of the order.
    He K's looking at a fast ball, one down.

    Top of the order is Kody Clemens, batting lefty, one away.
    He sends a little pop to left toward the line and leftt fielder kind of made a mess of that one, he finally decided to try and backhand it on a dive, he wasn't close to catching it, it's by him, for a double.

    Jones bats righty, with a man on and one out.
    He walks on four pitches, to put two on.
    The batter is Barrera, from the right side, with two on and one out.
    He could put this game to bed, if it isn't already.
    The count runs full and he walks to load the bases.

    Coach out and another pitching change.

    The lates pitcher for KSU is a righty in Nick Jones, with an era of 10.57.

    Kacy Clemens bats lefty against him, the bases loaded, one away.
    The count runs full and a double play ball to short goes 6-4, then a high throw to first, that goes over the first basman's head, two runs score, on the E-4, Clemens winds up on second.

    Texas leads 12 -4.

    Two outs and and a man on for Denny, batting righty.
    He flies out to right, to end the inning.

    Texas gets a couple of more on the KSU miscue and the farm animals are out of the barn now, I believe, Horns lead 12-4, bottom of eight.

    Connor Mayes comes in to pitch the KSU eighth, Culbreth did very well under these conditions.

    Moore, the Wildcat catcher bats righty, leading off.
    A bloop to right will drop for a single.

    Lefty hitter is Scudder, with a man on.
    A high pop to left center is one away.

    Wolfe bats righty, with a man on and one down.
    He swings through a high heater, for a K, two away.

    Crandall bats righty, with a man on and two down.
    He lines a single to center and it's two aboard.

    Another righty hitter is Zimmerman, with two on and two gone.
    The count runs full and the runners will be off.
    A walk will load the bases.

    Ethier will bat at the bottom of the order, from the right side, with the bases loaded, two outs.
    He is blown away by a fast ball, the swinging K, will end the frame.

    Mayes escapes a jam and Texas is in command 12-4, to the ninth.

    Mathis will bat lefty, leading off, for the Horns.
    A ground ball up the middle is a single, a lead runner.

    Gurwitz bats righty with a man on.
    He grounds to second and the second basman tags Mathis and goes to first for a 4U-3 double play, two gone.

    Cantu will get an at bat, after he came in to pitch, with two outs.
    He needs a hit in the worst way.
    A fisted pop to second is the third out.

    Bottom of the ninth and Texas looks to keep KSU winless in conference play, they lead 12-4.

    A new pitcher for the Horns is freshman Blake Wellman, trying to close out the game.

    Top of the order is Dalrymple, batting righty, a good hitter.
    A sharp slider will get him swinging, the K is one out.

    Wodtke bats righty, with an out.
    A hopper to Barrera and he juggles it and the throw is late, it's ruled an infield hit.

    One on and one out for Rollette, batting lefty.
    Runner goes and there is no throw, nobody cares, as it's defensive indifference, to take second.
    The count runs full and he K's swinging on a foul tip, for two away, on a good slider.

    Moore bats righty, the last hope for extrending the game for KSU, one on and two outs.
    A 3-1 count brings out Skip, for the first time today, for some quick words, like throw strikes your up 12-4.
    He didn't even reach the mound, then goes back.
    The count runs full and a fast ball is lined to the wall in left, the double scores a run.

    Texas leads 12-5.

    Scudder bats lefty, with a man on and two down.
    A fly ball to center and the wind carries it to the track, but caught, game over.

    Texas wins 12-5, to take the series 2-0, back in a jiffy.
