O wasn't the only problem. Vance is in over his head, too. Great quotes are awesome, but his defense sucks.
To those who may have read any of my posts for the past few weeks... I accept that I misread every tea leaf in the known universe. I drank every flavor of the Kool-Aid, didn't notice it was Lo-Cal. I thought i was pretty wise and observant. Worst part, hour before kickoff I went to Dean Keaton Co-op and bought a sewn top-of-line Longhorn flag. Gonna fly it anyway every game weekend.
Yep, hard to listen to him right now. He is full of ****. never felt this bad about a team one game in. They need to go. We are Tennessee and Michigan after Fulmer and Carr right now.
Charlie lost me tonight. He opened the press conference by saying we are a better football team than what we showed. Which is what he said after every horrid loss last year. That's just absolutely delusional. The core values thing is nice, but he really has no idea how to make this team go. Just make the buyout at the end of the year and move on.
Bedford and his quotes are cute, but it is time to produce now. Sick and tired of his ******** act. Get your **** together, Vance.
I know this is discouraging but we must hand in there. It takes time to build a team and I really felt like it would be 2016 before noticeable progress would be made and 2017 before we competed for a conference championship. But in 2018 we need to be competing for NCs.
This team is no better than the team that played Arky in SA. What's worse is Strong is F'n awful at spinning things to make me feel better.
No offense, but your Pollyanna view of the program is a bit tiring. It may take time to build a program but this type of embarrassment is intolerable.
Well, the team won 6 last year. Might win 7 this year, and 8 next year. Only problem is, that is not enough. Need to compete for the conference title next year and win 8 this year. Otherwise, Charlie will be in trouble next year.
Yep, especially the D backfield. And his schemes do not seem to contain a good running game. Guys are out of place time after time. I am not sold on Vance. After these performances, who could be?
Bill, with all due respect, this isn't about "hanging in there" until we become competitive. This team is embarrassing. And it's not because they may or may not have sub-par talent. They are embarrassing because they have no idea what they're doing out there. That is not what the University of Texas in any field (and certainly football) is about. This was a "team" that was unprepared and under-coached, but inexplicably over-hyped by the same staff. Hanging in for a re-building implies the staff is building something.
Major Applewhite scored 52 in his debut at Houston. They were playing Tennessee Tech... but would we score 52 on Tennessee Tech?
If we struggle with rice without a doubt we need to make personnel changes if we lose to rice it's time to make coaching changes.
Could Notre Dame play in the NFL this year? Beat USC and Texas '05? back-to-back? Conquer Hannibal? Looked like a clinic to me. Texas 3rd down conversions: 2-14 Total offense: 163 Time of possession: 20:50 (1/3 of the entire game) Total plays run: 52 (23 pass, 29 run) First downs: 8 Notre Dame: 527 total offense 39:10 time of possession
Really, Watson??? REALLY???? Swoopes was competing hard and giving us the best chance???? FML, this coaching staff truly is delusionally delusional on an epic scale. Just tell the truth. We knew if we pulled Swoopes then he was finished as a player on this team and we would rather treat him with kid gloves than put Heard in there and risk hurting his feelings. Jeebus.
