What are your feelings on this? A lot of people at the alumni center today were talking about how great it would be and i was just curious as to everyone's feelings on the subject.
You don't understand recruiting much do you? Why would we play rice? Why would we play central florida at central florida? Do you know what kind of publicity and airtime we would get from a game like this? Take the time to actually think things through before you have diarrhea of the mouth again....
A game like that would not be for recruiting but for the alums/fans. And I would be so be there. No matter what.
Well, many Horn fans want a piece of ND. There is some serious payback time coming and this would be good stage to do it on. I am skeptical that it happens.

i don't like it. why not do home/home series with them? i'd much rather travel to south bend for a game than nyc.
The link indicated that ND and Army played every year from 1925 to 1946 at Yankee stadium. I checked out the record for that span, and my suspicions were correct: Army's record vs. ND those years: 11/9/1946 vs. Notre Dame (8-0-1) T 0 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/10/1945 vs. Notre Dame (7-2-1) W 48 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/11/1944 vs. Notre Dame (8-2) W 59 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/6/1943 vs. Notre Dame (9-1) L 0 26 @ Bronx, NY 11/7/1942 vs. Notre Dame (7-2-2) L 0 13 @ Bronx, NY 11/1/1941 vs. Notre Dame (8-0-1) T 0 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/2/1940 vs. Notre Dame (7-2) L 0 7 @ Bronx, NY 11/4/1939 vs. Notre Dame (7-2) L 0 14 @ Bronx, NY 10/29/1938 vs. Notre Dame (8-1) L 7 19 @ Bronx, NY 11/13/1937 vs. Notre Dame (6-2-1) L 0 7 @ Bronx, NY 11/14/1936 vs. Notre Dame (6-2-1) L 6 20 @ Bronx, NY 11/16/1935 vs. Notre Dame (7-1-1) T 6 6 @ Bronx, NY 11/24/1934 vs. Notre Dame (6-3) L 6 12 @ Bronx, NY 12/2/1933 vs. Notre Dame (3-5-1) L 12 13 @ Bronx, NY 11/26/1932 vs. Notre Dame (7-2) L 0 21 @ Bronx, NY 11/28/1931 vs. Notre Dame (6-2-1) W 12 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/29/1930 vs. Notre Dame (10-0) L 6 7 @ Chicago, IL 11/30/1929 vs. Notre Dame (9-0) L 0 7 @ Bronx, NY 11/10/1928 vs. Notre Dame (5-4) L 6 12 @ Bronx, NY 11/12/1927 vs. Notre Dame (7-1-1) W 18 0 @ Bronx, NY 11/13/1926 vs. Notre Dame (9-1) L 0 7 @ Bronx, NY 10/17/1925 vs. Notre Dame (7-2-1) W 27 0 @ Bronx, NY 1925-1943 ND went 14-3-2 against Army. Then from 1944 through 1946 ND was 0-2-1, losing by scores of 59-0 and 48-0 two of those years, tying at 0-0. The first time in the series that ND lost back to back seasons was 44-45, getting slaughtered both years. Tied in 46, and then the series ended. Hmmm.
I think one of the reasons ND wants to play UT and Nebraska at Yankee Stadium is because 2013 and 2015 will respectively mark the 100th anniversary of the first meetings with the two schools.
Notre Dame knows they are slipping into obscurity year by year so they want to play the high profile schools for tv exposure. A last gasp of air before they are forgotten by the new generation. Once their fans die off, adios legacy.
