Austin Wood will pitch for Texas. Augie is saying on the pregame show that Chance may be used today to close "as with J. Brent Cox and Huston Street." He says Boening will start the second game, if necessary, and Kasparek would start tomorrow's game. He says Ruffin will not start another game in regionals. He also mentioned that Kasparek has never shown the ability to be a reliever, so he will be used only as the starter for tomorrow's game if we get there.
Hey, didn't Kasparek earn a save against Villanova 2 years ago? WHo says he can't relieve? Seriously, though, we were in a similar situation a few years ago, having to beat Miami (OH) and Arkansas twice. That team got it done. Let's hope it can be done again.
