Gurwitz bats righty, at the top of the order, bases loaded. Need insurance and still need contact. A liner to center falls for a single and another runs scores. Texas leads 6-4. Ty out again and another change made.
The new Bobcat pitcher is Wes Engle, a lefty. Boswell will bat lefty against him, bases loaded, two in. He runs the count full and a liner will go down the line in right field, to the fence, two runs score on the double. Texas leads 8-4.
Full count for Baker, runner at third. He K's swinging for finally a first out. Ty out and another pitching change.
The latest pitcher for the Bobcats is righty Joe Powell. He faces Barrera batting righty, with a runner on third, one out. He flies a ball out to right, it's deep enough for a SF. Texas leads 10-4.
Cantu bats righty with two gone. He K's looking to finally end the rally. Texas after looking in deep trouble, is looking good for a 23rd straight win over Texas State leading 10-4, bottom of the eleventh.
Freshman Blake Wellman will come in to pitch for Texas in the eleventh, a righty. He will face leading off for the Bobcats, Perez batting righty. A ground ball to third is a 5-3 first out. Pinch hitter Dillon Paul will bat from the right side, with one away. A liner to center is a single, to put him on. Lovejoy bats righty with one on and one down. A liner to left is another single, to put two on. The top of the Bobcat order is back and that is righty hitter Ortega, with two on and one down. A fly ball to center is two away. So it's up to Luke (don't call me) Sherley, to keep the game alive, batting righty, with two on. He takes a called strike three to thankfully end the game. Texas does beat the Bobcats again, this time 10-4 in eleven innings. Need a well deserved break, before coming back.
Well that was kind of strange, but sort of different, then also sort of not. I pay for the Texas State video, to have something to go by. It's a one camera crappy feed that went in and out all game, sometimes no sound. Then it finally went completely dead in the eighth, they didn't even try to get it back and took it off their listings. Gametracker decided to also crap out in this inning. So all I had was radio, to hopefully keep up with, it will test your typing, but better than nothing. Another exta inning game, not surprising any more. The same MO, runners stranded, that help send it to extra innings. Two solo homers after two outs and nobody on tie the game, for Texas State. Then they look to have it won and break the streak, with some walks and shoddy Texas fielding. Then they remember hey it's Texas, we don't beat them. They leave them loaded in the ninth. We slog along to the eleventh and a rielief pitcher who has been out there for five innings implodes and by the time the smoke cleared, Texas had a 10-4 lead and gets the win by the same score. So the streak is now 23 straight wins over Texas State. It wasn't pretty again, but it's a win and you take those any way you can get them. Still too many strikeouts, but were a lot of hits, just couldn't score till the big inning in the eleventh, but better late than never. It's on to Thursday now and back to the Disch, for a four game series against the Cal Bears. Thankfully it's on LHN and I don't have to deal with these inferior webcast, by other schools. Till then the fingers and the brain needs some rest, after this one.
