that is a big Alligator Gar..............

    caught in Big Cypress Bayou above Caddo Lake in 1957........was over 12 ft long and weighed over 300 lbs.............that would make a bunch of gar balls if you are into that sort of wild game!

    I've seen those down on Caddo before, but never anything that big!

    I hooked a Gar in a lake in Sugarland last summer. He fought sorta like a snake but very powerful. Finally just straightened my hook and got off. Those things are nasty. My friend was going to club it to death if I got it on the dock. They will ruin a lake. Yea I have heard of Gar balls, but no way would try one. I've tried Alligator a few times, but Gar? That's just too coon *** for me.

    I’ll watch you eat the Gar and join you washing it down with a beer. Maybe we’ll all do that Spring Game thing again. With a side of Gar.
