Support growing for a vote allowing transfers to play immediately if they meet an agreed on minimum GPA. Could be a major change to leads to increased transfers in all main sports such as FB, MBB, WBB, etc. While the thinking is that the big schools will raid the small schools for players, it could work the other way if a player wants to a larger school for a smaller one.

Exciting news for freedom of player movement matching coaches and, I would think, cause some headaches for coaches trying to keep players to stay all four years. Sounds like players would get one transfer where they would play right away but a second transfer would result in their having to sit out a year. I can see where a player might be unhappy for whatever reason, friction with a teammate/coach; homesick, etc, and this will make transferring a more viable option instead of working through the issue(s).

Seems to work fine for softball (mostly) and volleyball. Then again, they aren't considered "revenue sports".

I say mostly on softball because we've received transfers into Texas Softball and they've started immediately. However, we've had others transfer (to A&M) and we required them to sit out 1 year (they were in the SEC by then). It's coach's discretion, I think.
