I disagree with this. The production quality of ESPN for football and baseball is top notch. Just compare the picture quality of ESPN to FS1 some time and you will see what I mean. I agree with your larger point about cable being a dying business and all that, but ESPN still puts out the best product, IMO, compared to the other choices.
On ESPN, the issue is a combination of consumers leaving the giant cable conglomerates and the exorbitant fees they've paid for broadcasting rights. Their most recent NBA contract tripled. Whether ESPN sucked at negotiation or there were other bidders that drove up the asking price, their longterm bets are not paying off. I gave up cable 8 months ago and haven't looked back. I replace it with digital antennas and SlingTV. My overall cable bill dropped to $40 from $150. Unfortunately, Comcast/Xfinity is onto the cord cutters and now is jacking up ISP prices. My monthly internet bill has increased from $40/month to $125/month. That increase was not in search of more speed (it's not their highest speed) but rather for increase data usage. What used to be unlimited data usage they've now put in place caps/penalties. Now, with Ajit Pai leading the FCC the ISP's get whatever the heck they want.
Watched a Horns baseball game on FS1 this season and the visual and commentary were brutal. Even LHN broadcasts are infinitely better.
I don't mean the picture quality. That's perfectly fine, but you don't need to pay for ESPN to get that. For example, I'm a baseball fan, and I simply get a mlb.tv subscription for a fraction of the cost and don't need to goof around with ESPN.
I quit watching ESPN because they got too political. I don't want to hear a story how Kaepernick is the modern day Rosa Park.
Ridiculous: Maybe she is quicker to recognize the open receiver, but he's taller, more athletic and has a much better arm.
And I thought the World Series of Poker was boring. Pretty soon they're going to broadcast people gambling on how long it takes for paint on a wall to dry.
I think they have a lot of the content on the LHN app, but so far, they have not deigned to offer an Android version, so I cannot confirm.
Yeah but in order to view it on any sort of app you have to be able to login with your cable company credentials.
I wonder what the percentage is for the children of rich guys who are given a wildly profitable business their dad built only to then drive it into the ground or at least leave it severely wounded?
Lahren obviously did a stupid thing and is clearly interested in self-promotion, but I don't think Beck handled it well. Directly retaliating against her for her comment made him look weak and of course let her garner a lot of attention, which is exactly what she wanted. I would have called BS on her, but I would have let her keep her show until her contract expired and then sent her on her way quietly - which is the last thing she would have wanted.
You are better versed in the details than me. I am willing to say -- (a) She's cute (b) Beck is an odd duck
That 89% of Republicans are likely the 36-38% of Americans that still approve of an incompetent POTUS simply because he has an 'R' next to his name. Yay team! It's all "fake news" except that most of it's turned out to be pretty accurate from the MSM which is why we need to catch the "leakers".
