I guess since he is the only player with hair covering his number, it is no problem for the refs to know who to call if he commits some foul. Other than that, if he intercepts a pass or advances a fumble, it will provide a nice handle for tackling, and no penalty for "horsecollar".
You would then like the Michigan game today. A Miami Ohio receiver was literally tackled by his hair. The Michigan DB was coming from the side and as the receiver moved past him he literally grabbed a chunk of braids and pulled him down to the ground. It was awesome. If you are going to have hair like that be prepared for someone to use it to their advantage. As for the Samoan guy though...Isnt it traditional there to not cut your hair or something?
