The SEC--just another conference (that we happen to be the Champions of…)

I will be honest not even in my most optimistic of moments with burnt orange Kool-Aid in my stomach and burnt orange glasses on my face did I ever imagine a 16- 2 start to SEC conference play in baseball. This isn't a dream start it's a complete fantasy start, and yet it's real. At this point, I'm just riding the incredible thrill of it all.

The announcers yesterday were stupefied by it all and I can't blame them, no one, and I mean no one, had Texas doing this. Even those who thought Texas could be very competitive wouldn't have predicted 16-2 in first six series. :hookem:

Exactly. Next week the ags come to town in a matchup of the #1 team and a team with a sub .500 conference record. At the beginning of the season that sounded about right but the teams would have been reversed.

The best part of it all is the SEC boards are quiet....I mean cricket blaring quiet. All I heard for 2 years is....well you all know. I think they are all just as stunned as we are....except LSU fans. They are about the most never quit whiners in the country. They can't pick on the team so they complain about the stadium, field, jumbotron, etc. I'm starting to believe they may be a more natural rival to aggy after all.

Aggies are doing the same thing. They can't point out losses or failures on the field so they go on and on about the subpar facilities located in a bad section of town. Oh, and how empty the stands looked, they keep whining about attendance.

It's a magical season so far. I've been beyond ecstatic about what I've seen from everyone and mostly from the coaching staff. The decisions to pull pitchers and the offensive and defensive lineup changes have proved to me that they are truly looking at this as a team sport to win each and every game.

No more of this static lineup BS, you want to bat in the 1-5 slot or be in the lineup, period??? Prove it at the plate and in the field. Winfield may not see the field in a weekend series the rest of the season. :idk:

You want to pitch more??? Give your team a chance to win, limit free bases, keep the ball in the park and pound the damn zone!!!

It's amazing what happens when you reward hard work and competition.

Geez, these guys are nuts. It's going to be a chippy series Im sure but this guy and some others say the ags come to Austin and sweep Texas.

Would be amazing for Schlossnagle to leave aggy who starts out in top 5 only to take the Horns to Omaha and a national championship in the first year.

Like I was saying………..

Champions in our first year.

And we struggled and battled so hard all those years to win the Big 12.
