    Anyone watched this?

Only seen the 1st episode, 2 and 3 are on DVR. (Been watching college baseball and working). Episode 1 seems to implicate TR in the bombing of the U.S.S. Maine. Am I misreading this?

I knew some about Roosevelt and that he was an advocate of stronger action against Spain, but to imply that he would sacrifice American lives for Cuba and Spanish Pacific holdings is a little much.

I did like the Grant series produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, so I am wondering if I am reading too much into this.

More biographies for me to look into. Suggestions of Bios are welcome.

see My Journey through the best presidential biographies blog

the guy is a professional historian and I don't agree with a lot of his opinions re presidents (I am a crank) but he has read the most prominent bios of all of them and his selections are uniformly good even if his opinions don't line up with mine. He is as good a guide to the material as any I have seen.

When I was a history grad student at UT I got to read a ton of bios and TR was one of my least favorite presidents, largely because he was so bellicose and inclined to go to war. As for the History Channel, they are worthless in terms of judgment. Have they gone into his conversations with extra terrestrials? don't be surprised if they do.

Wish I had learned about this series earlier, TR is a former POTUS and an American Icon.

Most providers should have this on demand. When you find it, let me know what you think.

Spindletop changed Roosevelt's presidency from neighborhood bully to worldwide "we will kick your ***, take my word for & don't make me prove it to you"; thus moving the US from Third World country to world power.

    Where are we now?
