Tivo coming to your desktop Pretty cool! No more hacking to add drives and no need to shell out $800 for a Series 3 if you get a cablecard ready PC. Now if they can just get DirectTV or Dish to use cablecards!
So it'll be just another PVR software out there? I currently use BeyondTV, but I dont think they have support for cable card tuners yet. I like BTV's interface too
I tried a couple different solutions with my PC, and I never found any of them as good as Tivo. The Tivo season pass feature seemed to be the 'smartest' of any that I tried.
Where exactly are the Cable Card tuners? I see the ATI TV Wonder model, but I cant find where any of these are sold.
IIRC, due to the cablecard overlords, the techonology is supposed to only be available on new machines that are certified (IE have all the proper DRM software).
