was TD the first player to win an NCAA football championship (1976 AP title with Pittsburgh Panthers) and a SuperBowl (1977 season w/Dallas Cowboys)?

Cross Referencing GB Super Bowl I roster and NC History...

    Herbert Adderley
    Allen Brown
    Paul Hornung
    Bob Jeter
    Steve Wright

Would of been on NC teams.

In college, he pronounced his name: DOR-sett

Changed it to Dor-SETT in the pros.

    Here's some more Dorsett trivia:

He played 4 years at Pitt, won a NC and a Heisman Trophy and never played in front of a home sellout.

I've read that Dorsett was part of a freshman class of 70 recruits. Anybody know what the Horns' biggest class was in the pre-scholarship limit days?

TD has a heisman logo on his personal checks - or, at least he did in 1994.

I will toss this in without fact checking. He was the first Super Bowl player I know of that had a son also play in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately the son lost ( I think twice).

Did you know on TD's 99 yard td run against the Vikings that Dallas only had 10 men on the field and Tom Landry was trying to get a TO.

Also, that 99 yd. run will not be broken, because Ron Springs fumbled the kick off right next to the pylon (sp).

Seem to recall one year's Texas Monthly "Bum Steer Awards."

The year Dorsett announced his name was pronounced "door - SETT", not "DOOR - set".

Had a caricature of him in his Cowboys uniform, sans helmet, replaced with a French beret and some comment like "Maybe we're supposed to start calling him 'Antoine Dorsette'?
