Meteorologist Andy Hill predicts Marshall is about to get hit. Based on a rapidly increasing spinning supercell moving towards Marshall.
Looks pretty wicked on video. Big bad tornado. Multi-vertices. Over forest, farms and ranches. (For now). Debris and trees flying around.
Northern suburbs of DFW are in the track of some nasty straight line winds coming in soon from Pablo Pinto and Parker Counties and moving East. Up to 70 mph. Insurance adjusters are downing shots of tequila right about now. Re-Insurers are gulping down their gin and tonics. And one old man in Omaha isn’t very happy.
South Dallas getting hit. Tornadic rotation moving East-Southeast. Probably will go South of downtown, but you never know.
Tarrant County suffered lots of very high straight line winds knocking trees down and power lines over. DFW area estimates around 100,000 have lost power. Hopefully, they get it back soon.
Sirens going off in Collin County for past 30 mins Even if no tornadoes the meteorologists do an incredible job I'd rather be ready to go to my safe shelter And not have to go than be dead For now it looks like we dodged one Thanks All the meteorologists.
NE Texas got the bulk of the tornadoes. DFW got the 60-70 mph straight line winds and 189,000+ without power.
I was reading yesterday that warm temperatures in the Gulf could (possibly) result in a more active tornado season in the South this spring. Of course there are other factors, such as the amount of wind shear (has to be not too little, not too much), and a La Nina weather condition in the Pacific.
