There are still some very reasonable flights left to Omaha for the NU game in October. I booked mine yesterday.

Which airline and connections did you use. Lincoln is not exactly a hub.

  3. It's for games like this particular game that i wish we had a train between Omaha and Lincoln on gamedays. Well, we will eventually but it won't come this year.

for this game I would so not drive into Lincoln on Saturday morning of the game. there's no way you will be able to do that this year. Every Husker fan and their dog wants to be at this particular game.

I'm thinking the reception may be a little icy this year in Lincoln, but hey, if there will be Rusty at the tailgate, it might be a memorable trip.

Has anyone made the drive from Dallas to Lincoln? We are considering going because a friend started work on her PhD there. Free place to stay and may be our only opportunity to go.

GG will be tested under severe Husker fire. The bugeaters will be ravenous for revenge. The Horns, coming off the RRS, will need to score 14 to win.

We're staying in Omaha and going to Lincoln on game day. Is there a bus or shuttle? Would rather not rent a car.

Looking forward to this trip - should be intense.

    Hook 'em.

Cool. Except that we would need more than mass quantities of booze. Also, staying in a casino that weekend. Combining two of my 3 favorite things that weekend.

I have driven frm Dallas to Lincoln multiple times. Ignore Mapquest and avoid Kansas City. Mapquest will have to take I-35 all the way to KC, then I-29 North. That is out of the way. When you get to Wichita, take the I-135 North to Salina, where it converts to US 81. That is a straight (due north) shot to I-80 in Nebraska, where you head east for 45 miles to Lincoln. This shaved an hour from my trip and there is far less traffic approaching Lincoln from the west.

Does anyone know if there is a gameday shuttle between Omaha and Lincoln?

Pericles; Wesser is correct. US 81's totally redone and 4-lane most if not all the way and all the I-80 constuction's completed from York to Lincoln.

HNK might add details but that's my latest.

Beat the HELL outt Nebraska Oct 16!

  22. LHAB is correct but I will add that you may want to come in from the west on gameday instead of the East...last time I was on I-80 going to Iowa there was still construction at times between Omaha and Lincoln. Haven't been that way in a couple months.

But yes, Highway 81 is totally redone and is four lanes most of the way. I should know - my mother is from Geneva right on Highway 81 so I've done that many times. And as far as I know the construction between York and Lincoln is finished.

A quicker, easier way if you're driving from the south might be to take the Kansas Turnpike to Highway 77 and then take that straight on to Lincoln.
