My left boot rubs a bit. Should I do the soaking thing? I was just planning on wearing them an hour or two at a time until I break em in.
yeah you should definitely soak them (completely) for a couple hours. It really helps soften the shaft, expecially at the base where the leather can be stiff and rub on your ankles. you'll also break them in more quickly
After I take them out of the tub, do I wear them a couple hours? Or just soak em and let them dry first?
let them dry first. Lay them on their sides, as they dry more quickly on their sides than standing up. Remember to take out the in-soles, too. You don't even have to wear them immediately after they're dry (might take a day). The leather will still be soft and more malleable for a while after drying. Saddle soap will also help soften the leather around the foot (once they're dry).
