One of my buddies used to say "a faint heart never touched a fat thigh".

If he doesn't give it a try, he won't ever know.

Not sure how good his hands are - - has he ever caught a pass as a Longhorn?

    Hook him.

If Rico Gathers can get drafted (and still with Cowboys) after not playing a down of football since middle school, ole 18-wheeler is certainly deserving of the chance.

Can he block? I think that's a bigger question.

    Brad,

Remember Mickey McCarty? Best athlete to ever come out of Pasadena. No college ball, but Lamar Hunt remembered him from HS, and the Chiefs drafted him as a TE.

I wish the young man all the best. Few young athletes have handled the situation as well as he did. Last one I remember was Bill Bradley.

Is that sorta like "an orgasm in the bush is worth two in the hand" or some such? Rather vulgar but very graphic reality.

I hope TS tears it up in the League. Pulling for him to do great!

Blake Bell is playing TE for the 49ers. It is possible.

" .... “He’s one of the most exciting guys to see in this camp for us,” Carroll said on Thursday. “We know that he has the littlest background at this spot, the fewest snaps. He hasn’t had an offseason lifting as a tight end, really. He’s been a quarterback his whole life. Last year was kind of, ‘Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.’

“So he was totally tuned into it. He had a great offseason. He’s athletic. He’s physical. He’s not just a run-and-catch guy like you might think, because he’s a (former) QB. He’s got enough physicality to play on the line of scrimmage and block people.

“I believe that’s going to show up in this camp, so we’re really excited to see what he does. He’s right in the middle of the competition.”

His sports agent lives near me and tells me the Fans out there are really charged to have Swoopes there. Of course that is agent talk.

I think he will be playing before half the season is over.
