Great football documentary I recommend watching to help you get through the next 53 days. About an urban HS in Memphis serving under-privileged kids with a long history of losing and follows one season as they turn it around. I also watched "Last Chance U" and though that coach was a total jackass. Not sure how that Junior College is so successful in football at any level. The HS coach in "Undefeated" was just the opposite. Very motivational and selfless. A truly positive role model. The documentary is worth the watch just for that.
Saw them both, agreed about coach in Last Chance U even though I loved it. His out of context biblical references made me chuckle. Last Chance U season II in Netflix next week. Hopefully the coach saw how much of a prick he was and hoping he made some personal changes. The assistant coach was awesome, I even wrote him an encouraging email. Good guy.
The one thing that jumped out at me in Last Chance U was how little those kids cared about school yet how hard that Counselor worked on their behalf. It really felt like most of those kids could care less about their "last chance".
