The midweek game is against UT-Rio Grande Valley. This is the new combination of Pan American and UT-Brownsville. Pan Am was a good baseball school under head coach Al Ogletree for many years, they gave Texas fits in the early 70's.

Texas tries to break a three game midweek contest losing streak, these game have helped to keep Texas under the .500 mark for the season. Can't really take any of these games for granted any more, after what we have seen this year.

    Line-ups coming up.

  25. NBHorn7

    NBHorn7 Pimp Daddy

Texas gets off the midweek losing slide, with some help from UTRGV wildness and passed balls. Some key hits by Boswell, one on an attempted pitch out and the homer by Kody Clemens are also big.

Dunbar and Shugart shut down the Vaqueros in the eithth and ninth and that sealed the victory.

It's now on to Lubbock, for a series that could well define the rest of the season. If Texas wins it, then they could back in the playoff picture, but lose it and then it could mean just playing out the rest of the regular season. Meaning winning the Big 12 Tournament again to gain a Regional birth.

Be back on Friday night and see how it all transpires. :hookem2::bevo:

Serious question, NB, are you man or a machine? How do you motivate yourself to create these threads, particularly during a below-average season and especially for these dreary mid-week games? By the way, thanks for doing them.

He is the type of horn fan I would love to be but due to job and family am not allowed to be. I try to keep up with all Texas sports except maybe track and field, swimming and for the most part tennis. And dang it, the dead time for Horn sports will be here all too soon. So come on baseball extend our season!

As is, I can do it for Texas Baseball, because I know baseball and the program pretty well. I would know a lot more if I still lived in Austin, but still have some sources.

Then again, if I still lived in Austin I would be at most of the games and away games too.

As for the other part about man or machine, you caught me, I figured why fight the technology, when it was available.

I forget what number I was, but was after Steve Austin, Jaime Sommers, and Barney Hiller.

Well NB for whatever reason you consistently put in the time and monumental effort to give us a detailed picture of events as they unfold, it's greatly appreciated.

While I catch most games on LHN, there are missed innings now and again. Before I resume viewing I often read your play by play to fill in the gaps.

On Tuesday I had a very helpful experience with this thread. I was watching but preoccupied. Last time I paid attention we were down 4-3.

I next looked up to see Texas leading 6-5. My first thought was "what the hell did I miss right in front of me?!?" and scrambled to check your post. :smile1:
