Currently watching Churchhill play Southlake online and Abby Buckingham is a stud! She's gotta be the MVP of the match! She plays all around, she passes quite well, and she can hit from back row. Can't believe she's only a Sophomore. She's a very mature player.
For only a sophomore, Buckingham looked fantastic. If she continues to improve, she will be a very polished 6 rotation OH by the time she comes to Texas in 2016. Abby demonstrated that she already has a variety of shots, but I was most impressed with her ability to hit over and through the block as well as her ball control skills. IMO Abby was the x-factor for Churchill as no one could contain her, not even Cat McCoy, the libero from Carrol and our 2014 stud commit. Cat passed really well and had some outstanding digs.... I'm excited to see if she can contribute next year, especially with the graduation of Sarah Palmer.
