It's the last ride of Haley Eckerman and Khat Bell, and will likely be our best shot at a volleyball natty for the next several years. [IMG]

Sixth trip to the national semis in seven years is astounding--more so considering the odd year out was thanks to losing to the eventual NC in a Regional Final!

Comparisons across eras are fraught with peril, but consider: Russ Rose arrived at PSU before there was an NCAA women's VB tournament. From its small fledgling beginnings in 1981, it took Russ 13 years to get PSU to its first National Semifinal. From there it took another 13 years for PSU to reach its sixth National Semifinal (so 26 years total). Jerritt Elliott has taken his Texas teams to the National Semifinals six times in just 14 years total, and six times in just seven years counting from the first appearance...both about 2x as fast as Russ Rose managed with PSU. Obviously PSU has all the bragging rights over Texas over the past decade...but what will things look like when Jerritt is 35 years into his career, as Russ now is?

Unfortunately, our 'Horns are 2-3 in their five most recent National Semifinals (losses to Stanford, PSU, and Wisky, wins over Minny and Michigan) so they need to beat BYU to even things up at 3-3.

Anybody planning a VB match watching party? Would love to be part of a small crowd cheering our 'Horns on to victory over BYU.
