Coming off the Natty there have certainly been some frustrating times for fans so far this year. Comparing 2012 and 2013 WVU matches, however, provides some reason for optimism. On 08/29/12 Texas swept WVU at their place, -15, -18, -16, an aggregate score of 75-49. At home on 11/17/12, Texas swept WVU -14, -17, -16, an aggregate score of 75-47, so a two point improvement over roughly 2.5 months On 10/23/13 Texas swept WVU at their place, -15, -20, -29, an aggregate score of 81-64. At home on 11/21/13, Texas swept WVU -17, -10, -15, an aggregate score of 75-42, so a 16 point improvement in less than one month. The analysis isn't nearly this simple, of course; last year Kat Bell played only one of the three games in Morgantown, for example. This year we used two different setters at home and gave mop up playing time to several players starting in Game #2. What it all means I don't pretend to know, but it is good to finally see a 2013 vs. 2012 comparison that actually looks positive. Also really good to see H.Eck kicking it up a notch after an offensively disappointing season prior to the two most recent matches.
