Forty one years ago today, I answered the door to find two somber men dressed in military uniforms. Although I was only 14, I knew why they were there. They had come to tell our Mother that her first born son now belonged to the ages.

I ask that you keep in your thoughts and prayers my brother and the thousands of men and women who have given their lives, those who have been injured and maimed, and the families who love them.

No parent should have to bury a child. RIP big brother.
