DFW Tailgate Thurs. October 14 - Tolbert's Grapevine? Poll

 

There have been 3 meetups this year at Tolberts in Grapevine. I flew down from Chicago for 2 of them. Perhaps we plan a get together for the spring game in Austin. We need to do a majic dance and get rid of the spell that some witch doctor put on this team at halftime of the OU game...

So,

I'm thinking another informal HF "tailgate" at Tolberts - Grapevine on a Friday night in Jan. or Feb. to CUSS & DISCUSS the Horns. I promised @mb227 next DFW meet up would take place on a Friday eve.

Also thinking an April meet up at Scholtz's Beer Garden close to campus prior to spring game.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions, gentle criticisms?

 

Let me know when and where, and hopefully I can get a flight to Texas and join in. HOOK ‘EM!!

Scholtz’s Beer Garden for the Spring Game sounds great! It will have been 3 years by then, since our cook out in the rain and wind in 19’.

 

Sounds good, but how do we do that with the 1,000 who show up there on game days?

 

I would be glad to host an in person and virtual planning meeting in Houston during bowl season (or anytime). I watch them all. Or we could watch BB. Large office near down town.

True, early HF tailgates, when MB was HC, were well attended/ crazy, mostly free food & beer hosted by Robert and Katie.

DION and a few if us did a tailgate at the spring game in 2018. A lot of work, $$ and much food but attendance was poor - I / we won't do that again... so Scholtz Beer Garden is a good alternative: no work, no out of pocket $ on hoping people attend and it is flexible for everyone.

So, real HF tailgates with the little blimp on the string days are long gone. I will be very pleased if 50 show up at Scholtz's in April for the spring game. If more that, THAT will be a good problem to have.

 

Great if it works and the patio can be taken over by HornFans.

 

Let me call Hartzell up and get that reservation taken care of.
