The next three games will play a big part in that determination. Win the next three and they would be on about the same pace as Mack’s second year. Lose two out of three....we can reassess. Too bad, because all the losses were winnable games. Don’t think you could have said that about Mack’s last couple of years.
BIS is correct. This team needs to learn like Mack did after that NC State game. Offense is humming. Hopefully we don’t lose too many on taking early shot at NFL. Defense was injured against a good offensive team. I think the reversal of ball position was a critical point. Take the breaks either way and learn to win.
But has the Alamo Bowl become essentially the same for Texas fans as the Holiday did...the WhyBother Bowl. It simply isn't worth the hour drive to overpay for parking, seats and beer when you can stay home and get a better view from the couch... This team has shown it gave up on the season, at least on defense. They completely lost focusness following the 4th quarter of RRS.
mb, What you say is correct, but there are lots of fans that don't get to go to Austin, and who would love to see the Horns play. Do I want to go to San Antonio? Yes, but only to have a Chris Madrid's Macho or Paesano's Shrimp. San Diego & Phoenix excite me about as much as an eighty year old crackhead stripper
I don't agree the defense has given up. We are just not getting enough penetration with our d-line guys. Like someone else said we miss Poona. QBs have too much time to throw. And it's kinda weird that our blitzes keep getting picked up.
SUGAR BOWL!!!! The glass is not half full, it is overbriming. Here is how the the Big 12 finishes: Texas wins out. Ou and West Virginny each win the next two games. West Va beats Ou at Morgantown. Texas owns the tie breaker with Ou. Texas wins the rematch with West Va in the Big 12 Championship game. We go to the Sugar Bowl. I am ordering tickets today.
Mack went 9-5 in his second season losing the last 3 so the comparison to that year is apt. If this team can get to 9 wins that would be great and a definite step forward. This isn't 2005 and VY and company aren't suiting up, it will take a while to get this roster and team back to where it should be. Yes there are some holes and this team needs some good recruiting classes to build on last years class and get the depth needed so injuries don't kill them like they did Saturday, but anyone who thinks this team isn't getting better is just ignoring reality for their own purposes.
Already bought excellent tickets for Alamo Bowl and don’t care who plays. Would prefer UT and Washington State but it will be a good matchup regardless Love me some Leach And Gardner Minshew/Ehlinger shoot out would be awesome
I don't think he's ever played against Texas? Neu-weasel was coach at Washington last time we played them. Would this be revenge for a season of high hopes that ended, instead, with a trip to the Alamo Bowl? Maybe I should withhold predictions until I see what kind of numbers Tech throws for but my first thought is WSU is a horrible matchup for our defense.
Petersen's revenge against the school administration for misleading and perhaps promises not kept, as well as for the way his good friend Brian was treated.
Oh, I guess I'm not familiar with Peterson's dealings with Texas? I thought he was a West Coast guy, something about the PacNW weather / healthcare for an ailing child, and never would have been in the picture here. I presume next you're talking about Harsin whom I thought wizened up to Mack's P.T. Barnum train wreck, got tired of running that stupid statue of liberty play among other things, and took the first train out of town that he could.
This bowl season you will have to settle for getting a macho out of the food truck. The building is still under post-fire reconstruction.
