They usually send flyers out by now. Maybe delayed due to coaching change.
Hello Longhorn Foundation members,
Happy new year and start to the Spring 2021 semester! I hope you enjoyed a peaceful holiday season and have had a pleasant 2021 so far. It’s been five weeks since the last time I wrote to you and we’ve got some ground to cover!
First, thank you to those who made 2020 year-end, tax-deductible gifts. Despite still being in the midst of a global pandemic and state of economic fragility, the loyalty of Longhorn Nation to our student-athletes, coaches, staff and athletics program has shone through these trying times. As an entirely self-sustaining athletics department, your support is integral to the ongoing success of our student-athletes. We are so grateful to have one of the most dedicated donor bases in the nation who helps them to achieve their academic and athletic goals.
Second, we’ve welcomed a new Texas Football head coach, Steve Sarkisian, to the Forty Acres. There has been a flurry of virtual Longhorn Foundation member meet and greets with Coach Sarkisian over the past two weeks, so we hope you were able to join one of those Zoom events to hear from him and welcome him to the Longhorn Family. Coach Sarkisian joins us from his position as offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide, a team he recently took to win the 2020 National Championship. He has a strong track record as both an offensive coordinator and head coach in Division I college football and the NFL and brings extensive experience developing top talent, including three Heisman Trophy finalists. Today he also announced he is closing in on completing his official assistant coach staff. We’re looking forward to his dynamic, #AllGasNoBrakes approach to infusing excellence to our football program.
Finally, it is usually around this time of year that many of you begin to prepare for Texas Football season ticket renewals. As we continue to navigate the landscape of college athletics amid COVID-19, we want to let you know that we anticipate the football season ticket seat selection and upgrade process to occur later than usual this year. Currently, you are able to make your Longhorn Foundation seat-related gift and Longhorn Excellence gift when you log in to your Texas Athletics account. If you do not currently have Texas Football season tickets and are interested in putting down a deposit, new season ticket football deposits are on sale now.
We’re looking forward an exciting 2021 with y’all, so stay safe, be well, and keep washing your hands!
Hook ’em, Horns!
Senior Associate Athletics Director
Yeah, I read that, but noted the lack of specific dates. I think they want Sark hit the ground, have a good NSD in February, have evidence that vaccines are working (for those who have second thoughts about their season tickets), and then hit the foundation members hard to renew to maximize donations (this would be my plan). I’m thinking April or May for donations and season tickets.

This tells me the window will be short due to late start.
It used to be late March/Apr deadline to establish points ranking, then on to seats, TXOU, and away games in May/June.
It appears they are advertising Sark and Co for deposits on new season orders to determine demand before they turn to renewals. The Dec cutoff for deductible donations is past. They may be plan to wait until early summer and verify what stadium capacity will be before they confirm any new season tix sales.
Approx 65K current season tix holders to see if the 100K capacity will be available.
Im sure we will hear lots of updates from CDC as the off season progresses.
Chatted with the TexasSports.com ticket this morning and here is an update:
- Renewal notices to go out late April for Season Tix
- Cut off dates for loyalty points ranking for donations will be set then.
- 2021 tix prices are not finalized as the South End Zone pricing is not finalized.
- Renewal deadline will be announced when Renewal Package sent.
- Currently taking Season Tix Deposits for new season tickets purchasers first come first serve.
-$199 per seat deposit with 8 tix max for new season tix.
- Based on loyality points basis and order of deposit for new purchases.

The new map will be released with updated SEZ in late April.
Thank you! That answers a lot of questions. I sent my deposits a week or two ago. Hopefully there will be two seats available for me.
Thanks. By the way, those are close to the old dates before Steve Patterson moved them up earlier in the calendar.
@AndyBA Just a question, did you join the Longhorn Foundation when you paid your seat deposit?
The minimum is $50 per year but you earn loyalty points to get ahead in line of non LHF members in seat selection.
Seat are priced by tiers as available but LHF orders are filled before general admission and single seat orders.
To be honest, I'm not sure, but I sent the Foundation an email this weekend to ask how I can become a member. So ... I plan to join if I haven't already. (I did make a $100 donation toward a capital improvements project, but I'm guessing that does not go toward the $50 Foundation dues, so I'm probably not a member yet.)
Capital Improvements donations are 100% tax deductable and dont earn Loyalty points but you can get into the points program by minimum $50 fee.
The important thing to remember is that you lock in at the fee level you join so you can lock in the minimum and then always donate more if you choose to get better seating tiers.
If you join LHF at $50 and buy $199 season Tier 5 seats for 2021 you should have the same seats for Bama in 2022. Texas Atheletics will sell unsold single game tix at a higher price.
Thank you. I'm pretty sure that capital improvement donations do earn one loyalty point per $20. In fact, they're already showing up on my loyalty points total (which is the only reason I think I might already be an LHF member). I have 6 points now, including the one point for the ticket deposit. I hope to get tickets anywhere in the Tier 4 to Longhorn Lounge range, depending on availability. I've worn that seat view website out.
