    College?

Now granted I'm 33 yrs. old, but out of what I have seen and heard about through tv, records, and highlights, I would choose the following.

    1. Barry Sanders
    2. Herschel Walker
    3. Earl Campbell
    4. Bo Jackson
    5. Ricky Williams
    6. Adrian Peterson
    7. Marshall Faulk
    8-10 ???

Now I know names like Jim Brown, Marcus Allen, OJ Simpson, and so forth belong somewhere, but they are before my time and I didn't get the chance to see them.

What would your Top 10 list look like?

Dorsett should be on that list.

Peterson should not. Too many injuries. Too short a career.

Marcus Allen has to make your top 10.

its too difficult to make a top 10. You have left four spots open, assuming you rightfully drop Peterson from that list, and need to stick Archie Griffin, OJ Simpson, Ladanian Tomlinson, Jim Brown, and Doak Walker on there. You could make a case for so many guys in the top 10, we could go on for months. You can judge by numbers or talent or championships or whatever you wanted. Names like Emmitt Smith, Marcus Allen, and countless others deserve recognition, and even crazy names like Rashaad Salaam, Ron Dayne, and Jamal Lewis would come up for single season/career achievements

Joe Washington would be on the list if it were mine.

When the Cowboys first entered the NFL I hated to see them play Cleveland. Jim Brown would simply overwhelm them. There cannot be a realistic top ten list that does not have his name near the top. He was Earl Campbell on steroids.

Being from the Port Arthur area, I've heard a lot about Joe Washington. Definitely a special back that must have consideration on the top 10 list

    get Emmitt Smith on there.

I love Gale Sayers. He was poetry in motion, but he's been surpassed.

You need to at least consider Cedric Benson.

    6th all-time in rushing, 4th all-time in scoring.

I would put Jim Brown on that list. His senior year he rushed for 986 yards, 6.2 ypc and scored 14 touchdowns in 8 games.

Ernie Davis may have been the best of them all. The first African-American to win the Heisman in 1961, he also led Syracuse to an undefeated season and the NC as a sophomore in '59 and a win over Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

Drafted with the first pick by the Redskins and immediately traded to Cleavland to pair with his idol Jim Brown, he never played a down in the NFL. Tragically, he was diagnosed with leukemia just months after winning the Heisman and died a year later.

If you don't put Javorski Lane on there right away, he is going to cry all night long.

I think Ed Marinaro still holds the record for rushing yards per game over the course of an entire career, albeit on a fairly weak Ivy League team against weaker opponents.

I'm not really sure why some of you don't list Ricky. He's only the 2nd all-time leading rusher in college.

Excuse me. I missed the word college. I guess Brown was a slacker in college. Maybe he was saving himself for the NFL.

As much as I hate to say it, O.J. Simpson was the best runner I ever saw in college, although I was very young when I saw him.

He's not bad at killing people, too.

Also you should put Gale Sayers somewhere in there. Electric runner at Kansas.
