    I saw that differently.
Card dropped that right in-between the coverage.
The defender in front managed to jump high enough to tip the ball but Worthy's concentration saved the play.
    Nothing lucky about it.

Wasn't that also a play where Card escaped out of a collapsing pocket, kept his eyes downfield and threw it on the move?

Didn’t Coach Royal describe luck as when preparation meets opportunity?
Worthy looks as if he’s having fun once again.

I cannot believe y'all missed the obvious selection...Roschon from the wildhorn...except instead of the delayed plunge into the line, he actually rolls out and hits a tight end who has nobody within ten yards of him because, well...everyone knows Texas doesn't believe in the use of a tight end to catch the ball.

Then, to torment Venables on the next possession, Card sets up under center with QE out wide. Card rolls to QE's side, which was underloaded since, after all, QE is clearly a decoy, except that it is a pitch to QE who shows the frustration of being on the sidelines and hits Worthy in stride for ANOTHER Longhorn touchdown (as uttered in my best Craig Way impression).

Two possessions in, all three with QB experience have touched the ball...the schooner self-implodes.

You know he underthrew it right?
The ball only traveled about 55 yards as he threw while rolling left. Our offense is too limited with that kind of arm.

    Sarcasm?
If you watch his release it's evident he is lofting the ball for placement and not trying to power it down the field.
He was only a couple of inches off.

Yes it was. He showed arm strength several times versus WVU. I don’t understand that some say Ewers opens up the playbook. I’m curious what those plays 70 yards downfield are like.

Ewers would have thrown it 56 yards!

Yes, and John Aune would have thrown it 85-90, and Benny Pace 105. BUT none of those three suited up.

I keep thinking about this. Will a rusty Ewers be better than an improving Card?? I honestly don't know, but I think Sark will make the right decision.

He certainly can, but I think starting Card and transitioning to Ewers is a negative. Ewers if starting will get a pass if he plays poorly. Card if starting will be nitpicked.

You don't lose your starting spot due to injury when you are playing great which Ewers was. Ewers has earned the start if he's healthy. Unless Card had played like Colt you start Ewers until there's a reason not to.

    1) I don't think this is always true. lots of examples where the backup takes the reigns and never relinquishes them.

    2) people were saying the injury would take more than 3 weeks to heal. so there is potential he'll a) underperform, and b) reaggravate the shoulder.

Just don't think it's as clear cut as you make it. And Card was Coltish at 78%, over 300 yards and 3 TDs

I think the more important question is whether it will be the backup qb or a midget running back from OU who emerges Saturday evening as a Hypesman candidate.

Just to be clear, it's not on his throwing arm, and it's not his shoulder. The injury is to the joint pictured below.

Card is our Ace-in-the-hole if Ewers is rusty returning....

Sark has done a good job keeping his mouth shut and ou guessing which QB may start.
