Those who cannot remember history, however, do tend to see it repeat...and Texas fans have seen far too much of that sort of history.
If Ewers is healthy he starts. Period. If he's not then QB2 starts. That's the way it works. If Ewers is healthy the only way Card starts is to beat him out in either practice or in games. That hasn't happened yet. I said "if he's healthy". You're points about not being fully healthy should not be part of my argument that Ewers starts if he's healthy. Now I see the concern on being rusty. But Ewers just processes info quicker. They both have solid arms, but I've watched enough football to realize when one guy can process info faster. It's not that necessary against an average D, but against OSU the following week it's going to be necessary. Even the play he got hurt he had the sense to get the ball through the endzone and not take a sack. Sucks he got hurt but it was the right play. Card has played well, but not close to the Bama game Ewers was having before he got hurt. Ewers has earned the right to start if he's healthy and gone through a week of practice.
That one source appears to have helped move the line to Texas -10 and elevate the over/under to 66...and take Texas to -325 on the money line.
I actually have no money down on this one...I liked Texas at -5 and the over back when it was barely cracking 60. At ten points, this turns into a stay-away if a ticket was not already acquired...I don't like the land thieves getting 10 and I just don't trust the second half performances to feel comfortable with the Texas -10. I will discuss this in greater detail when I finally do my post in the picks thread...
Agree you did say that. I'm honestly creating a positive argument for either. They're both doing great. And I didn't like the Major/Applewhite controversy. Bad juju
This^^^^ My biggest concern is that the players, seeing the 55 that tcu hung on ou, will not be at full tilt balls to the wall from the kickoff to the last second ticks off the clock. The ou defense will scratch claw bite fight from the get go. The offense will throw everything, including trick plays, fake punts, onside kicks, massive holding to protect whichever qb is playing, etc to score quickly. They know that their lame offense cannot sustain long drives against our defense (which played well enough against wvu). Buckle up. This is going to be a hard fought game.
I have made my feelings about Venables known since his first Texas/OU. Obviously, I don't like the guy, but more importantly, I don't trust him. I have major concerns about injuries during the game.
If our boys aren't up for this game, they aren't aggy ready, or some such. I expect them to come out with their balls on fire.
As most of you know, ou will not play UT like they played KSU or TCU... Hate 'em, but buckle up - this will be a hard fought win! However, me thinks Horns come out strong and dominate early.....
Our defense couldn't figure out a true freshman running backup QB. That game gutted us the rest of the year.
This will certainly be Ewers test to see if he's worth $4mil. Pretty obvious looking at the defensive stats UTSA, WV, TT hardly count for our offense even though Ewers didn't play. NCAA College Football FBS current team Stats | NCAA.com
Why bother spending this energy? You are most likely correct. Changing any of the variables most likely results in a different score. I was thinking the team averaged 7 points per possession while he was playing. But that’s not 8 I suppose.
