No one is trying to convince you man, If you don't like awesome, don't drink. I like awesome, so I'm going to go have a couple beers at dollar beer/quarter wing night at the wet spot.
I have wondered the same. I do realize it makes parties/ballparks/whatever more fun (drunk people are some of the best entertainers) but I never really enjoyed the taste of any alcohol. And really, people who like to drink will mostly drink anything if it's free so I don't know if I'm buying the argument of great taste. With that said, I do drink because it's social. I still always end up being the sober one at the end of the party. BTW I hate all you drunk drivers.
^ yes, there is a lot of p(b)eer pressure at social events to just hold something in your hand and to do something besides just standing around with no purpose in life.
Drinking can make you feel good, comfortable, and confident. Drinking can make annoying **** like family gatherings more tolerable. Drinking can ease tension in an awkward situation. Also, wine tastes very good. Great wine with great food and great friends or family is one of the best experiences ever. I do not see how these are not convincing arguments. Just because you hate fun?
mmd, got milk? but seriously, sounds like you guys need something to get over your insecurities, anxieties and boredoms. Can't you think of something better to do with your time and especially your $?
don't get so defensive (except when driviing). You can have fun with people just chatting or watching a game, drinks are not an absolute must. Soda will do just fine. Why not go for a healthy alternative also?
