Why does College Gameday on ESPN try to make me cry?

There's always some sad tale delivered in hushed tones.
    It's a football show.

Maybe I'm just hard hearted and cynical.

Hate to sound this way, but to get wives and girlfriends interested in watching? It’s one of the reasons I haven’t tuned in for several years. Guess they don’t want my ratings.

They think they'll convince some ladies to watch with the sadness. This is why I actually stopped watching the olympics. The last 20-25 years have progressively gotten worse with the non stop sob stories about what the athletes had to overcome to get there. They spend so little time on watching the actual sports it's a waste of my time.

I stopped watching because they are always talking or laughing over each other, its a joke.
