Winston out for entire game. Should have been this to begin with.

Boy I hope Clemson hangs it on them. Maybe this kid will learn something in this. Doubt it though

Herm Edwards was saying this on Mike & Mike the other day. Sit him for the whole game and make him have to be accountable to his teammates, who will no doubt be angry.

I read or heard somewhere that if FSU loses this game but wins out, the championship selection committee may "excuse" this loss because of Winston's absence. If that's true, that would be an interesting scenario indeed.

This is such a reactionary way to deal with things. "We'll suspend him for X length of time, see what people say about it, and then decided if that means we need to change X or not."

I think the corporate sponsors pressured Florida State more than the fans did.

How would Charlie Strong handle this situation? Need we ask.? The right way. Winston would have been suspended indefinitely.

There is a right way and a wrong way to handle these situations. Virtually every coach in the SEC (remember, I said virtually), and folks like Stoops and most others would give it a hand slap. To them, winning supersedes sound decision-making. It's pathetic. Goodell did the same thing with Rice.

Winston, like Manziel but worse, is a very poor representative of the game. They both send the wrong message. Hopefully the fallout from the Ray Rice debacle will have profound and lasting implications. I suspect that it will.

Like others have stated, CS is way ahead of the curve. If he can find a way to put together a winning program and, as of now, that is a big "if," he will be revered.

Herbie said it best on Gameday. How can anyone accused of what he was accused of ever say anything like that, especially to stand on a table and yell it?
    Disgusting.

Not attempting to make a West Mall comment here, but here goes. All of these suspensions like the NFL and FSU, are very fluid depending on the public and endorsement deals in place (as an earlier poster rightly said). But the simple fact these acts occur and the various leagues take a wait and see attitude speaks directly to our society's view and value of women.

How could any ticket holder in sports where violence against women exists not be on the phone with these organizations? You may not have a daughter, but you have a Mother, and maybe a sister or indeed do have a daughter, and this systemic treatment of women is tolerated.

At the UCLA game, the Bruins had a "dance team" that did a routine in cowboy hats that was on the big screen. Big boobs, blonde hair, 1970's style hot pants, about $100,000 in white veneers and white go-go boots. Hell, as a gay man even I found it offensive. It was just this side of soft core porn. This is what we think of our women? And yes I did call Belmont to say that I realized it was UCLA's routine, and it was the stadium's decision to put it on the big screen, But that it was inappropriate. As long as images of women like this are the norm, it will continue to embolden the Rices' to treat women as disposable.

And only when men and women say "NO" to things like the girls from Westwood, will this crap stop. Is this what you want for your daughters?

That's quite a college career JW's got going: accused of rape, stole$40 worth of crab legs, & now shouting obscenities in the student union bldg. you begin to wonder if he's "all right in the head".

It is my thought that he was thinking that the coach, school and or others would protect him like the other screw ups. Only time will tell if he has learned from this. He would not be here under coach Strong period! Bob Stoops would make him sit out a quarter or take his car away for the day. [IMG]

Under the circumstances not playing, seems contradictory for him to be allowed on the field. It's more like he has an injury, not a code or team violation.

Horrible play selection by Clemson on 4th down in OT. At the distance needed you don't hand the ball off that far behind the line.

Slow developing play after a shotgun snap when you have 6 inches to convert. Ouch.

Jimbo Fisher's expression was priceless when he saw Jameis in full gear right behind him. You could just see him thinking "dumbass".

Should have been a 3 game suspension and no sideline presence.

1 game and a sideline celebrity?!?! What a joke.
