Buehler, is all I have to say. We had the game won twice and blew it, thanks largely to Buehler. She was nothing more than a liability through out the entire competition, yesterday, it finally caught us. The first clearance she had was a little unlucky as it struck Kreiger who couldn't decide what to do. But the 2nd goal, she lost Sawa and Sawa made us pay. This was a bittersweet win for me though. First and foremost I wanted us to win, but losing to Japan, I cannot think of a more deserving team. We have the 2012 Olympics to look forward to now.
I knew the US was in trouble after Japan got the first equalizer. They did not celebrate much, they just got the ball and went back to playing. They were not content to equalize, they wanted more. And when the coach was smiling and joking with his group before the PKs, it was a great message to his team.
