Worthy transfer to USC??

Like some players who expressed an interest in transferring when Sark at Alabama. Like Jordan Addison. The fact he didn't wind up in austin doesn't mean a huge effort wasn't made to sign him.
I would also be shocked if we haven’t already made overtures with Evan Stewart. This time last year I was helping a friend out who knew nothing about the portal and the process. In a conversation with a SEC position coach, I shared “next week when he is cleared to speak to teams…”. His response to me was “ come on man, there are plenty of ways around that and if he is really going to portal he needs to be talking to schools now as transfer spots are already being taken…”

Every other pass it seems he's the primary. If he's thinking of transferring something off the field is going on.

Crossing fingers everything is copacetic

Anyone have any perspectives on what is motivating Worthy? To me this smacks of a LR intervention, just like the Pitt receiver over the summer.
Maybe it's that not a pass was thrown in the second half of the last couple of games we won? (a little exaggerated but not much)
He didn't sign up to play for Navy.

hmmm,
just thinking.
early in the season I called Worthy a prima Donna. I may have been more right than I knew.
so to appease Worthy we kept throwing the ball to him? no matter the detriment to the team? even when it wasn't working except on occassion. Is this why Red got upset?
And is this the reason why Card wasn't put in?
Cause Sark thought Ewers could throw it better, deep.
that blew up.
If Worthy has a strong grip on Sarks nads then I am glad he is leaving. I wonder if Sark made promises.
Kids today aren't like kids of yesterday. We had to earn our way. Parents and coaches were respected or it was sayanora.
I don't know if I am totally right but where there is smoke there is fire.
Can't we just play football and win while we are at it.
I hesitate to post this. maybe it's nonsense from an old nut.

I really don't know anything about the USC depth chart, but given their success I's be surprised if Worthy could just walk in and nab a starting position. Although it's not out of the question LR has promised him a starting position and then when the season starts, well, uh, this other guy is better.

You really can't promise anything at an elite program. Everyone is competing for spots. Any amount of laziness can be the difference between playing or not.

But they like to believe the hot air. Adrian Peterson said he was coming to OU to beat Texas and win a NC. He had a great career but lost to Texas his last two years (out of three) and no NC. But that team he was going to beat did win a NC his second year at OU.

Team jumping seldom works out for the player. But unhappy darlings usually help the team by moving on.

Whether we want to admit it or not -
LR is a better coach than Sark
Caleb Williams is a better thrower of the football than anyone on our roster.
Los Angeles is a more attractive city for a young person than Austin, not to mention probably more NIL opportunities.
Worthy did NOT grow up a Texas fan so UT was never his “dream” school.
On the other hand, probably every WR that goes in the portal has USC as a target landing spot. So LR could have his pick, and Worthy, as good as he is, may not even make the cut.
So, not saying he’s not going anywhere, it just may not be USC.

ga,

I see your points except that none of the dormitories at Texas have burglar bars like the football dorm at USC.

The area across 35 up 19th Street is not exactly River Oaks or Preston Hollow, it is far better than Watts, Compton or Downey.

Try to find fast food or even a sit-down restaurant around Exposition.

I have burglar bars and a security system but I’m 2 blocks from the beach and the weather here (Hermanus, South Africa) is amazing most of the year. Life’s all about what you value and trade offs, I guess. I grew up in Austin and it’s still an awesome city but I wouldn’t think of moving back.

Perhaps true today but it wasn’t true (for Williams) as a passer last year. In Year 2 he has become a much better passer. Point being, I fully expect for Ewers to evolve by next year into a consistent and probably lethal passer. His skill set is undeniable.

That was definitely true 10-15 years ago but I would question whether it is true today. Austin is an extremely popular place to be for the twenty-something crowd, with an amazing array of entertainment options. Not to mention the explosive employment opportunities.

It would seem so.
Yet LR was handed a program that was a well oiled machine.
And, frankly, it was beginning to look like a little oil was needed by the time he left for USC.
And what was still good about the program followed him, leaving OU in disarray.
Let's put LR in charge of a program that's been in turmoil for a decade that has to be rebuilt from the ground up and see how he does.

You put those little green bags on a pole in front of your house for the “walkers” to use? I still hear those in the Uhaul biz make a ton when they can get a trailer into Ca. As for that water, adding a 7mm wetsuit in July from Cabo to Seattle, not my thing. I take ANY beach in Florida, anyday. YMMV

Yep, I remember being in south central LA around 99. The McDonalds have bank security fault windows. And I've lived, spent a whole lot of time out there and I don't think the LA area is better than Austin.

Now the area from Los Gatos, Saratoga up to Palo Alto, along with the weather is a different story, but a nice house is a dream.

Lincoln is doing what Sark had the chance to do - win 10 plus, playoffs, and Heisman winner. Riley will keep them rolling. Can’t blame Worthy for considering the move. USC is where Texas could be.

I wonder if Texas would be there too if Worthy had held on to half the catchable balls he dropped.

Though I don’t say this with any rancor. I certainly hope Worthy stays, we need him.

Maybe now that the NIL is in play, somebody needs to sit Worthy down and explain what California’s income tax will do to him.

Yea, if Bryce Young and most other talented players had followed Sark from Bama he could be doing what LR is doing. :rolleyes1:

Super crazy to me that so much time and energy is being expended here.....all baseless speculation.....over 1 tweet.... one media guys speculative and unsubstantiated tweet.
Biting on this stuff and fanning flames does nothing but help whoever the original source that wanted this out there was.
Still been nothing..nada...not a single thing done or said by Worthy...or anyone else for for that matter...to substantiate this 1 iota....but yet look at all it has drawn out...including the targeting of the player who's done really nothing wrong that we know of in the matter.

Good grief^^^.

Caleb Williams is one of the best QB's in the country. Had he been the QB here, there is a good chance the horns would be in the playoff hunt. QB is the most important position on the field. Caleb has Heisman like skills. He will be in New York when they award the trophy before his college career ends.

Moon's response below I agree with.

I will give Riley credit for being a better portal recruiter, but he is unethical and it will eventually catch up with him. To compare his year 1 to Sark's is just plain aggy.

no doubt LR is a better coach than Sark. Not even close. LR is in the top two.Sark is somewhere between 30 and 60.

oh, if we had Caleb Williams we would be undefeated. No doubt in my mind.

lol Not sure if I’m being accused of saying Caleb sucks or that Ewers is amazing.
