I'm not surprised nor do I really care. There are a lot of well to do pastors out there who have nice stuff. Why is this wrong? It's not a sin to have money or a big house. I don't see why this is a negative.
It's not wrong - it's just highly ironic that a man who seems to despise the United States seems to be living the ultimate American dream with lots of wealth. The very system that he criticizes has help him gain wealth and fame.
So you're saying the American Dream is to be a preacher of a congregation who feels oppressed and is looking for spiritual guidance? I'm on the wrong career path, then!
I love how people still point to a 30-second sound bites of this guy as the complete basis for their opinions of him and by extension, Obama. America is better off if you don't vote.
It doesn't bother me. If a person gets rich honestly, and I think he did, it's fine with me. Talking about Wright's house detracts from the legitimate criticism of Wright's statements and Obama's associated poor judgment. There is an attack on Obama's judgment which will play if it is not mishandled. And that attack will be important if McCain is to overcome the voter's tendency to unfairly put the blame for a bad economy on the party of the President. As such, I don't like to see petty criticism of Wright.
