The Link They used 'Imagine' without obtaining permission. Harvard is also pissed at the movie's producers over use of some of their animation. For Christians, these guys aren't very nice.
I honestly don't know why the movie would use the song 'Imagine' That song should win the award for all time most unexplainable, irrational lyrics.
Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one. You should have said you don't agree with the message of the song. It's quite easy to understand.
Yeah, those lyrics are definitely more irrational and unexplainable than these: We're J.J. Fad and we're here to rock Rhymes like ours could never be stopped See, there's three of us and I know we're fresh Party rockers, non-stoppers, and our names are def See, the 'J' is for just, the other for jammin' The 'F' is for fresh, 'A' and 'D' def Behind the turntables is DJ Train Mixin' and scratchin' is the name of the game Now here's a little somethin' 'bout nosy people It's not real hard, it's plain and simple Baby-D Supersonic Supersonic Supersonic motivating rhymes are creating And everybody knows that J.J. Fad is devastating We know you like us girls so you better get steril 'Cause we are the homechicks that are rockin' your world Supersonic Supersonic Supersonic is a word when people start to listen Especially big eared people, they pay close attention You might not believe it, you might not even buy it But when it comes to our lady (Beat Box), you might even try it Supersonic Supersonic Now all you supersonic people try to bite our rhyme You may think that you are def, but you're way (S-s-so) behind You better listen good to what we have to say 'Cause when it comes to J.J. Fad you can get no play Supersonic Supersonic Now he's the freshest DJ from coast to coast My man can cut and scratch, but I don't mean to boast He may be a little light, but that's okay 'Cause when he cuts to the beat it sounds this way Hit it Supersonic Supersonic Uh, uh, uh, yeah, it's finally my turn to rock the mic Because my devastating beats I know you will like You see my beat box is fresh, it'll blow your mind And if you don't like my beats I'll go big in your behind (Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-uh-uh-ha) Supersonic Supersonic Now you party people know what Supersonic means We didn't try to brag 'cause J.J. Fad is just too clean Now baby, don't you know that our rhymes are so bionic Don't listen too hard, don't be Supersonic Supersonic Supersonic You see, the 'S' is for super, and the 'U' is for unique The 'P' is for perfection and you know that we are freaks The 'E' is for exotic, and the 'R' is for raps So tell those nosy people just to stay the hell back Supersonic Them big everlasting ears Supersonic They can hear what I say faster than I can say it Supersonic They better chill (Rock box) It's like, it's like She's Supersonic You ran out of words Hit it, Baby-D I'm light-skinned, devastatin', I know you think I'm empty headed That's all right, cause they all know I took your man and anyway Always rappin', always clappin', everybody always say I'm happy If you try to hang with me you should find it's true you see I'm always rockin', never stoppin', devastatin' rappin' lady When I'm on the microphone I sing to all these imitators freaky is her deffer is her everybody say I'm different There's no other angel lover, everybody know I'm covered Clientele is a pearl, everybody know in jail To the beat so you can tell everybody know your cell I saw my llama llama llama Do my nama see me? now my llama nama do my llama llama nama see me now my llama nama do my llama llama nama see me now my llama nama see me, I'm a do my llama hum uh yeah (Yeah) That's it (That's it)
When I saw "JJ FAD" my mind started going 'the S is for Super and the U is for Unique..... " Thanks for that.
"Imagine" difficult to understand? Come on, you don't really believe that. Now Yoko Ono, that's difficult to understand.
ok, sorry I should have excluded the genre of rap/hip hop when I talked about most illogical lyrics. First off of course I disagree with some parts of the song... parts like imagine there is no heaven or hell... that bit, but that is not the part to which I refer. Now this next bit: Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace really, no countries? I really can't imagine there being no government. That has been tried before and a government of some sort always emerges admist the chaos. Reality has proven that this type of thing does NOT result in peace. Also, if there is nothing to die for, then would there really be anything worth living for? People die for things because of love. I would gladly die in place of, or for my daughter if it came to that. To imagine there is nothing to die for would be akin to saying, 'imagine that you had a daughter but really didn't love her.' No, I can't imagine that, and I doubt any parent could. I don't just disagree with it either. I find it absurd and unintelligable. You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world Ok.... this says to immagine there are no material possessions, which means to essentially deny that the material world exists. really? that is just insane! People will always have clothes and houses, and at the very least physical bodies. btw, ask anyone on Rusty's but hunger happens and is a great thing, because then we know when we need to eat. You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one. You should have said you don't agree with the message of the song. It's quite easy to understand. it is quite easy to understand that the message of the song is purely fantastic. It has no bearing in reality. PS. sorry, to rant, just ignore me, that song is just a pet peeve to me for some reason, and I know that this has littlel to nothing to do with the thread.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- it is quite easy to understand that the message of the song is purely fantastic. It has no bearing in reality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- i'm pretty sure that's why he named the song...get ready for it....Imagine.
Well, since it is quite obvious you missed out on the sixties, you could go to Eeyore's Birthday Party tomorrow in Pease Park, and maybe it would expand your universe a little.
I just don't understand that Imagine song. I mean, it makes me imagine things and I just don't know how. That's a beautiful song that makes one think. Sorry you have no Imagination, Theu
Sub, you are correct. Because I can't imagine people who don't believe in anything worth dying for & I can't believe in people who don't need possessions or who get hungry. Honestly, it just sounds like pure crap to me.
This should help explain the meaning of Imagine: Harmony and understanding Sympathy and trust abounding No more falsehoods or derisions Golden living dreams of visions Mystic crystal revelation And the mind's true liberation Aquarius! Aquarius! When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius The Age of Aquarius Aquarius! Aquarius!
I believe the key word in "Imagine" is imagine. If you are able to imagine, just imagine mind you, "no Heaven and no Hell," "no countries," "no religion," "no possessions" and "no need for greed and hunger," you might be able to then imagine all the people "living for today," "living life in peace" and "sharing all the world." You don't necessarily have to advocate or want any needful things that we've invented for protection and comfort to be totally removed from our world to imagine, again only imagine, an existence without such materialistic or intellectual requirements and pressures I can IMAGINE that; in fact, it's easy if I try. I think the song is saying that each of us should try to improve our world's balance, individually and collectively, rather than promoting selective deletion. John Lennon may have had an idea different from my personal interpretation of his words, but the calm tone of "Imagine" is different than his more strident call in "Instant Karma." Lennon even acknowledges in the lyric that we have reason to say he's "a dreamer." So, I see and hear his song (and now, because of its almost boundless popularity, our song) suggesting an increase in thought and thoughtfulness and not as an announcement of a recipe for a new world made perfect by having "nothing to live and die for." Just my opinion....
Popular tee-shirt from the early 70's: "What if they gave a war and nobody came?" That equals Imagine.
