    Barack Obama

    Just wow.

What a warped sense of the role of government. January cannot get here fast enough. So much for entrepreneurial spirit.

Just wow it right, does this guy even listen to what he says?

How anybody can honestly vote for this guy is beyond me!

What is really pathetic is that he uses the same speech to talk about all the jobs "WE CREATED" during the Clinton administration.

    Uh, Barry....you didn't build that.

It'll be great to watch some of you if he wins again. It will be feel good internet viewing. Granted, I am not voting for him but still, to see some of the angrier elements of our society getting all ***** hurt to the nth degree, priceless.

Almost makes me want to vote for him and if I knew my vote would make it happen, I'd do it.

The GOP is trying too hard with this.

Face it, the GOP has a non-Christian magic underwear wearing stiff who has the most flexible spine in the world.

They hate Obama more than they like Romney.

Toss it all out and make Pawlenty the choice.

It's time for the GOP to start appealing to the normals again.

Dang Perham, you really hate you some Mormons. That's a couple inflammatory posts in the last few days. Did a Mormon steal your lunch money back in the day?

At any rate, this speech has nothing to do with Romney or Pawlenty or any Republican but rather Obama's disdain for business owners.

Wrong. I don't hate the Mormon at all. I do find their magic underwear thing to be absurd. But then, I also find virgin births and resurrections to be just as, if not more, absurd.

What I find funny is that not too long ago the rabid religious right was goling apes*** over Romney b/c he was Mormon. Now? I don't hear so much.

True. It was similar to when Biden when apes*** over Obama being an empty suit.

If Obama is re-elected it will be 4 more years of a stagnat economy as he has no idea what levers to pull or buttons to push to ignite this economy. He is too busy paying back his cronies and working the special agenda's instead of the American agenda. Sad that this country elected such an inept individual.

So according to the president, your success isn't about you being smart or working hard, because lots of other people are smart and work hard. As we all know, it would be horrible to suggest that maybe the "smart, hard-working"
people who failed aren't quite as smart or hard-working as those who succeeded. (No, I do not believe this is always the case.) But it again feeds into the Obama narrative to the poor that "that rich guy could be YOU if you'd gotten the breaks HE got!"

To the small business owner, he says that the only difference between you and the schmoe on the unemployment line is that you got help from someone else. Apparently no one else other than successful people is getting helped in this country.

What's really disingenuous about this line of reasoning is that he says "someone else paid for the roads, someone else paid for the education of your workers, you had a teacher that helped you..." which assumes two things: one, that you weren't one of the people paying for those things already. You got something from less successful people without contributing yourself and therefore you owe them." Nevermind that you actually paid taxes for those things - and very like many others did not.

Two: it assumes that those services were done specifically for your benefit. That teacher helped you succeed as a personal favor to you, so you owe your success to that person - although no mention of whether the people who DID NOT succeed can blame that same teacher for their failings. Did the entraperneur go to a different class or something? The roads and bridges were built for YOUR benefit - the poor non-business owners didn't get anything out of it, it was altruistic on their part. They sacrificed for you - so you owe them! Again, never mind that those things were built for the common good using common funds. If there are some private roads we're building specifically so small businessmen can succeed at the expense of the rest of it, we should probably take a look at that.

No one argues that we don't need some government to succeed. But Obama's belief is that you succeed and owe your success to the government, because the government is the origin and source of your rights and privileges. They allow you to keep your earnings, they allow you to use their roads and they apparently are the only things keeping the villagers from storming your business and burning it to the ground.

It's typical partisan rhetoric, but unfortunately it's also become typical American reasoning.

A President should be encouraging and cheering on entrepreneurs because they're the ones that are going to bring the economy back. Instead, he is belittling their accomplishment.
Considering his resume, I should not be surprised.

I agree, horncyclist. Which is why I said they are trying too hard.

But I'm sure it all sounds too "socialist" for the god-fearin' Repubs, cuz we all know how much Jesus hated socialism.

But seriously, the GOP just HAS to get rid of the millstone that is the right-wing evangelical. They are an embarrassment to the party.

When is the President giving his Nobel Prize back to the foundation? The USA earned it, not him. Right? Or, is he too busy tripping over his megalomania to swallow a dose of his own drivel? Hopefully, he'll remind his children that any positive grades they earn in school weren't from their hard work or focus in their studies, but systemic achievements of the government.

Typical right wing whining. The federal govt should have no role in anything unless Obama has not done something. Then all of a sudden that something is a President's main job. I also laugh at the cronyism allegations. As if the whole Halliburton fraud had never existed

Prodigal, that is what socialists believe. I once read an essay by George Bernard Shaw in support of socialism. The whole thing was built on the supposition that rich people are rich because they got "there" first, whether that meant land, business, etc. In other words rich people are rich passively because they showed up at the right place at the right time. The message is "you missed the boat" so you need need to get on the socialist band wagon.

I could not beleve he said that. I mean, I am glad he is so open about his hatred of free enterprise and capitalism but I was still shocked he so freely admitted it. Well, let's be happy that he is at least agreeing with our assessment of him.

    And..........prodigal for the win.

How bout this , obama........ you smug, santimonious, divider in chief. A good proportion of your constituency owe their very abililty to exist to those who choose to pull the cart rather than lie in it. How bout having them dismount from their high horse and show a little gratitude.

I thought surely Obama's press office would come out with a "clarification" on Monday. Nope. I think they are just planning to roll with the class warfare theme for the election.

    Outstanding leadership, that.

All successful business owners that I now, have done it 95% on their own and in spite of the government hampering them every chance they get, federal, state and local governments.

In spite of government interference, ask any of them!!!

I have to acknowledge that our government has generally been supportive of business, but that sure has been changing over the last couple years.
