Look! After getting your *** kicked ALL GAME! And you gotta shot to win from the 2.5 yard line with Sam.....you go for the WIN! If you Lose! You Lose! but.....
Agreed. I said so on the game thread. We should have controlled our own destiny there, just like the end of the USC game in LA a few years ago. We had all the momentum and if we lose, the only question is "do you think you could have hung around for a bunch of OTs if you kick instead" and that's just a shy and scared way to approach the game.
And their defense was dead tired too. I was shocked when they didn’t go for it on 4th down a couple of times.
Cannot believe he didn't go for the win. Your defense can't stop anyone! You cannot keep trading touchdowns. I guess he simply followed the binder.
Actually we should have gone for 2 on the previous touchdown. Same benefit if it works, but less downside if it fails since we might have made up for it on the next score.
Should have gone for it I believe in the second OT. A two pointer would have won the game. Can’t rely on your defense to make a play at that point.
Absolutely go for 2 right before regulation expired. We had just scored on 2 drives. Their defense was tired. They weren’t getting pass rush anymore. We had momentum. I will take one play from there from ellinger vs relying on our defense for a stop. It also allowed them to regroup.
all I know is when you have momentum = you go for 2 to win game ...Ole miss is in this game because (2) 4th down conversations! Tell me otherwise= your WRONG!
Maybe. I was ok with the extra point to send it into OT. OU had played poorly on offense for awhile. There was the chance that Texas stoped the in the first ot OU for the win. Plus the best time to go for two is when making it ends the game. So the second OT was the time to try it.
The point is you have to go for two in the next OT after the second, so it makes sense to go ahead and try to win it on the PAT at the end of 2nd OT. Especially since your defense had injury issues at the time.
Yeah that is when they should have gone for two. Try to win then and not have to rely on your defense. That said, it should have been the three and out in OT3 plus blocked FG that lost it. But for the OU miss.
Wrong! You go for 2 at end of regulation! But I said that already! TOUGH CROWD! You have THE BEST QB runner in ALL of college football.....and your coach takes it “out of your hands”......WTF!!!!
What Would Darrell Royal Do? There would’ve been no hesitation on going for 2. I had lots more to say on this, but it’s getting late and I’m still pissed off!
