I have a zoysia lawn in Austin that is infested with tons of dandylions. What is the best way to get rid of these things? I have been mowing short but the damn weeds are winning here. I do not want to do anything to harm the lawn. This is my first season with this (or any) lawn (I moved in over the winter) and I need help...

Try corn glutten meal it won't help for this year but it is a pre emerigent that will supress the seeds for next year. Use it now then July then October. After the first year you should use it Feburary, July and October. Also streghen your lawn by using a good organic fertlizer either Milorgranite or Lady Bug 8-2-4. Please PM me with any other question I do this for a living.

The weed hound. Mowing may be spreading more seeds

I've always been told that you want to mow high to prevent weeds.
