Devin Bush Jr. ..... Charles W Flanagan (Hollywood, FL)
    4-star ..... ILB ..... 6-0/220 ..... Michigan

    Per CaneInsider:
A 2015 The Opening Finals invitee, Bush, Jr. is the son of Charles W. Flanagan High School head coach, Devin Bush. The elder is a former NFL safety who played at Florida State where he won a national championship in 1993, was later drafted in the first round by the Falcons and won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams in 2000.

Though many people will always associate him with his father, particularly Florida State fans, Bush Jr. is looking to make his own way.

“I want to be myself, I want to make name for myself and I want to do it by myself. I know he helps me out, but I want to be my own man.”

    Per Scout:
Plays fast to the ball. Very instinctive player who plays one step faster than many opponents. Has very good game speed. Great inside the box going downhill. Works some on the edge as a blitzer as well and he is very effective. When he hits, there is pop with it. A lot of opponents go backwards. Best in attack mode. Can move sideline to sideline. Plays with aggression and an ideal in the box. Not elite size or length, but big enough.

Strengths: hitting ability, instincts, and strength.

    Per OB:
Texas was slow to offer Flanagan inside linebacker Devin Bush but it doesn’t impact his thoughts on the Longhorns. What intrigues him most is seeing the number of players picked up in the NFL draft.

“I am starting to get to know Texas. I know what it has been in the past and the coaches have told me what they are trying to build now,” Bush said. “Seeing the number of guys who have been drafted from there is something that stands out. If you see a program is making that type of progress, you want to go check it out and see what they are doing different from everyone else.”

Bush said he is still learning about Texas and getting to know the coaching staff, but he feels like Texas will be “pretty high” on his list.
