I bought in to the Charlie Strong staff. I believed he was doing great things for the program. I am 50+ years old, and never thought I would witness the total demise of the Longhorn football program! Why did Powers ever think we could be better than the other conference members, in creating The Longhorn Network?!?!? It SHOULD have been the BIG 12 Network!! I am sure we could have kept the original BIG 12 conf., if we had agreed to share funds!! IMHO, I do not think the Texas sports program moves forward, without major changes.

    BINGO!!! Total MIS-calculation....TOTAL

IF we take off to the Pac-10....TCU and Baylor would be nothing....afterthoughts....now, just the opposite....we are screwed....not kind of, but TOTALLY, ROYALLY screwed!!!

One hopeful factor, possibly, is that Mike Perrin is involved now. You know he doesn’t like what he is seeing and one hopes he is working on the right approach to correct it.

    Nytejag,

Deloss offered A&M a piece of the network and it wouldn't be called "the Longhorn Network. A&M refused. I don't have it, and after what I have seen at friends' homes, I ain't missin' much. It's kinds like HBO still runnin' Smokey & the Bandit or Blazing Saddles a dozen times a week. Sometimes it's enjoyable to watch the great memories, but not much else. Aside from Dan Neil and David Thomas, I'm not sure what chees factory LHN got the rest of those clowns. They would make Brent Mush-mouth bearable.

That said, no AD could turn down $300 million. Not sure anyone expected the LHN to pull so many Texas games off cable TV.

    Powers was told two things

"You just cost The University of Texas $1 billion."

"It will take The University of Texas 20 years to recover from your stupidity."

The second quote was from yours truly.
