We have now played Smash Mouth with OU three years in row.......

Weak Offensive Line, no WR to speak of, new quarterback, new system on offense.

Besides Striker what do they have on Defense?

I think they were highly over-rated coming into this game, I think they lose 4-5 games down the stretch....TCU, Baylor, OSU, KSU, and possibly Tech.

I think this OU team was on par with Cal.

Let's stay focused and be prepared for K-State cause they could rip us a new one!!!

I think they are not a bad team at all, maybe we just had better coaching this time. I don't know if their Tennessee win means anything. Tennessee beat Georgia and played Florida within a point, so they’re a decent team.

Hard to say - I think once it was 14-0 they got stunned and didn't know what to do about it.

It's a good matchup for us, in that their O-line isn't that strong and they don't run the ball particularly well. That allows our defensive line to play at an acceptable level, taking pressure off the LBs and the secondary - notice that Malik showed up big-time in this game? A big part of that was the DL occupying blocks and opening up rush lanes.

We seem to have a lot of trouble on defense if we have to pick our poison against teams that can run and throw well. If someone's more one-dimensional, it gives us a chance (that's true of every defense, obviously - but teams that can do one well right off the bat against us seem to end up doing whatever they want by game's end).

I think this has actually been that way against OU for the last three years, and you see the result. So is OU not that good? I think they're pretty solid, probably a top 25 team, but they're not a NC playoff caliber team IMO.

I would guess they lose to Baylor, TCU, +1 more to go 8-4 on the season. Maybe good enough to be at the lower end of the top 25.

OU was overrated but they still should have been good enough to beat a not yet very good Texas team. This game will either jump start Texas or be the fools gold that Nebraska 2010 was, I am interested to see what it will be.

Agree with this assessment. I felt it was a good matchup for us going in but was afraid to say it out loud. I also think KSU is a very good matchup for us although they would appear to have a better line. But I really like our chances.

OU went 5-4 in the B12 last year and got crushed 40-6 in their bowl game against Clemson. I'm guessing they finish this season 4-5 in the B12 (with further losses to KSU, BU, TCU and OSU). The Tech game will be close, but I think the Sooners win it because it's in Norman.

We will know more after Saturday when ou plays KSU, but KSU seems to be a better team all around. If Texas beats KSU they will win the remainder x-Baylor. Baylor is beatable by a good defense, and by the end of the season they could very well have no losses or 2 to 3 losses.

I love the win, but everyone is going overboard. Ou is a 8-4 or 9-3 regular season team, as usual. They'll pull their typical intimidation wins against the old big eight teams and that'll be it.
    Ou sucks!

A lot of posters bring up 2010 Nebraska. What they do not remember is, we had a TON of injuries in that win. Rewatch the game. I have after I attended in person. We kept losing defensive starter after defensive starter. While I do not think we were going to get to 10 wins with Gilbert, I do think we are not as bad that year without all the injuries. Remember we beat Tech in Lubbock and played OU tough before the injuries. That said, who knows with our game against Kansas State. We always have trouble with them. We beat OU and Kansas State in 2013, maybe we can do that again.

The sports programs are saying the whole season has been like this:...
To-Wit: Matchups week-to-week hardly circle back and add up to anything regards who played who earlier.

Each weekend's matchup is a game within itself.

We have done fine against non-mobile QBs. Got **** canned against mobile, accurate passers. Mayfield has been this way his whole career. Accurate if he has time, panics under pressure and either runs to early, or just falls down. He took a lot of hits so you have to respect that, but he's just not a good QB under pressure.

Last year OU went 5-4 in conference, and I think they do that again this year. Baylor will beat them by 28.
