Per Scout:
Agility, Athleticism and pass coverage skills are just a few of Jordan Carmouche's strengths. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound backer is a four-star recruit and member of the Scout.com 300.
With [over] 20 scholarship offers, Carmouche has plenty of options moving forward. He has a close relationship with his recruiting coach from Texas, Tommie Robinson.
”I talk to Coach [Tommie] Robinson the most,” Carmouche said. “He is a great person and coach. They have a great program full of tradition and I like how Coach Strong is a defensive minded coach and how many guys he gets to the league.”
Carmouche is an athletic even-front outside linebacker who thrives playing in space. He is athletic enough to play safety at times for his HS team. Breaks on the ball quickly and drops into coverage well. Possesses closing speed to be dangerous in backside pursuit vs. the run. Can improve on holding up at the point of attack. Pad level can be too high at times when striking, but has big hitting potential. Overall, very good perimeter LB.
Strengths: agility, athleticism, and pass coverage skills.
Per BON:
One attribute that probably made [Jordan Carmouche] appealing to Texas head coach Charlie Strong is his versatility. At various times, Camrouche lined up deep in a safety position and also patrolled the edges on the strong side and the weak side, showing the ability to set the edge on perimeter runs and drop into coverage to make plays against the passing game. At other times, Carmouche was used on run and pass blitzes to get into the backfield.
He probably projects best as a spread-busting strong-side linebacker who would not have to come off the field against opposing looks with three wide receivers.
